Download the game and beatmaps for it at osu.ppy.sh. I myself am not even CLOSE to that level though, and I've been playing it for 2 years now I can click fast enough and in the correct rythm, but I'm not even close to having enough stamina to play like that for 1 minute and 57 seconds, which is the length of that song...

You seem to sway towards the former, albeit I believe that's rather because you don't know the meaning behind it You've heard of the UK band "Pink Floyd", right? Ditto! The Cycles engine is surprisingly brilliant, even though LuxRender and Octane have many more features.

I haven't used Octane at all, and I've barely even touched LuxRender, but are they capable of having emissive surfaces, or do they rely on light objects like Blender Internal?

Octane does an amazing job with emissive surfaces. My avatar here was rendered in octane. No lights. Just the hdri image. I even did just a simple test with light surfaces that came out nice.

I have mixed feelings between the two. Sometimes I use the octAne renderer and others I use the internal. Just seems to be how it starts to look.

Put simply: no render engine can replace another render engine 100%, so the need to use either will come in due time whether you rarely use them or not. I mostly use internal, but I'll immediately take on Cycles once it's stabilized a bit more Easily.
