I will remember this, no faves necessary in future, Ols. Keep the comments coming though, they are appreciated, however metrically biased they may be!

(please bear in mind that I work long hours through the week and some weekend. I only really get the chance to get out and take pictures on Sundays!) (Yes, we really have devolved to 19th century working practices here in the UK, especially those of us that choose not to live off the state).

you're welcome.. you've got an impressive gallery.. so this one fav is a small thing compared to your gallery.. did'nt really know that UK got such impressive landscapes..

crowthius In reply to 0ls [2008-08-10 18:42:54 +0000 UTC]

Our highest mountain is only about 4 and a half thousand feet and we don't have any deserts, apart from that our landscape is as diverse as anywhere. This is why our largest industry is tourism. You should visit sometime, you won't regret it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

0ls In reply to crowthius [2008-08-10 19:22:00 +0000 UTC]

that is 1800 meters right?

hehe, i understand - that valley is so beautifull.. You don't need deserts to have a nice landscape or gallery

crowthius In reply to 0ls [2008-08-10 19:36:04 +0000 UTC]

LOL! You must excuse my Imperialism. Being English I understand metric, but prefer not to use it wherever possible! That's the way we are, above a certain age

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

0ls In reply to crowthius [2008-08-10 19:38:35 +0000 UTC]

How's that? the metric SYSTEM is smart and reliable.. that pound for whieght, and feet for meters in totally stupid..? how do you messures millimeters? 8/10 of an inch?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

crowthius In reply to 0ls [2008-08-10 20:05:08 +0000 UTC]

Imperial is smart and reliable. The units used, though seeming odd to non-believers, related to the world around us, at the time. Metric only exists as a counting system in base ten because we have ten fingers. If we all had twelve fingers metric would be in base twelve (like much of Imperial is) and you would think that base ten was daft! BTW we would not say 8/10 of an inch, we would say 4/5

PS I was schooled in Imperial AND metric, so I buy my petrol in litres and my carpets in square yards!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

0ls In reply to crowthius [2008-08-10 20:15:42 +0000 UTC]

Grrh.. I can hear i can't turn you into a metric using guy... If you someday would use the metric system proberly you would realize how fantastic smart i is.. It's more precise, easly to communitcate with, allways a bigger format to use.. instead of still counting feet in 10 kilomenters hight.. Thats just unsmart.. how big is mount everest? 27,000 feet?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

crowthius In reply to 0ls [2008-08-10 20:28:44 +0000 UTC]

No, no, no, no, no.......it's not 27,000 feet, that's just silly. It's 5 miles, 9 chains and 1 yard. What could be simpler?

Next, you'll be suggesting that we all drive on the right side of the road! Where will the madness end??

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

0ls In reply to crowthius [2008-08-10 20:39:11 +0000 UTC]

Hehe, funny guy.. thats is allso stupid.. you just want to be different because you can't be hot like the danes..
