Thanks very much for favoriting this. This particular image became available probably about 1962 when they just left the truck there and we found it in the woods some years ago and it was always there finally I took a picture of it
sadly just two summers ago somebody bought the property and that was one of the first things to go off to the junkyard they cut the tree down around it and hauled that out of there

Too bad. There is still a chance someone will rescue the truck and either restore it or rod it out in some way. It is a cool photograph as I do dream of finding something like that such as an old abandoned classic.

well a lot of people had used it for target practice so what they were a lot of bullet holes but they could have given it some character to call me would I even open up the hood and there was a solid intact GMC motor in there and all the wiring and the oil resistor and coil setup very little wiring underneath the hood back in those days used to be able to stick a screwdriver into your ear and touch it to the motor and the other valves tapping and know which ones to tighten up or not it was probably a solid workhorse and the chassis was exposed because the pickup that have been removed to haul logs and the chassis was in no danger at all just surface rust you're exactly right somebody could have called that out there then a body off restoration they could have either filled in the bullet holes are kept him in there for hot variety character
