Hello

thankyou for adding Blown out to your favorites, I really appreciate it. I was wondering if you would be so kind as to tell me what made you like it so much?

2-dorky4u In reply to Obscure-Iris [2009-07-24 22:01:43 +0000 UTC]

I like it because it looks very natural and raw. There's a hardness and a vulnerability to it. Does that make sense?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Obscure-Iris In reply to 2-dorky4u [2009-07-24 23:01:26 +0000 UTC]

It makes total and complete sense and I am glad to know that someone actually took the time to look at them as people and individuals exuding emotion instead of just seeing an odd image!

I appreciate you replying!

Glad you like them
I shoot with a Canon 40d and a couple of different lenses, and edit in Adobe Photoshop and Bridge, both CS3. I've also been trying out Lightroom 2.0 lately, but I'm not sure if I'll buy it yet.

Just remember, no matter how good your lenses and camera are, your photographs will look bad if the light is bad. If you want to shoot people, still life ect., invest in a reflector. A 5-in-1 reflector with a diametre of about 100cm will do the job, as does not cost as much.

yw. i have a canon powershot that i just got last week for my birthday. and i've been using photoshop elements 6. there's so much to learn about both of them. i'm such a newb.

thanks for telling me about the reflector, that's probably the best advice anybodys given me so far.

i'm going to be doing a shoot with a girl who's very model-like soon. i'm nervous though i want it to go well.

if you have any tips or tricks? that would be amazing.

Aasmund In reply to 2-dorky4u [2008-08-24 21:55:33 +0000 UTC]

1. Browse, browse, browse! Look at photographs you like and become inspired by them. You don't have to copy, but take something from one photo, and something a different one.

2. Prepare yourself! Find out as much as you can before you shoot. Scout locations, sketch out ideas, charge you batteries ect.

3. Have fun! Don't get too serious during the shoot. You're not suppose to be a comic, but interact and have fun on the set.

Hope this helps. Just ask me if there is something else you want to know
