Okay. I was looking foward to this event. This day was the reason we were together. Why we were together for so long. The aniversary of me and my Emily. Sadly I never saw what sadness and tragidy would come for her. Why she wasa spirit. I was looking forward to this day of our love life together. I was ready to greet her with hugs and kisses. I waited outside the bedroom of hers with a flower boquet. I knocked on her door. I waited and waited and waited and waited. Then I heard quiet sobbing. I couldn't possibly imagine why she sobbed. I knocked again. She stopped sobbing.

"Oh I'm sorry. I didn't hear you knock sweetheart." Emily said. "Please come in." "What's the matter my darling Emily?" I said. "Why are you upset on our aniversary? Its supposed happy for you and me." "Well its more to it then that." She said as she began to cry. "A more tragic day that even love can't mend my sorrow. It was the day I lost my life and my groom to be."

I was shocked. I didn't ever guess that this would her death date. A most cruel irony. The day I loved my Emily would be her same date as her tragedy. I didn't know what else to do except for hug her. I could feel her heart throb against my own chest. i almost wanted to cry myself but I felt as I couldn't at all. I decided to give her a moments peace. I couldn't believe what I heard. I was still shocked at the news. Late at night I heard her heart pounding as she wandered down the corridor where my room was. I peered through my invisible peephole in my door to look. She stopped walking when she discovered a glowing oval at the very end. It was my magic mirror. It could show everything from the past to the present to the future. She stepped closer and saw a reflection of herself but not as she is currently. But when she was mortal. When she was young alive and beautiful. She smiled a little but it saddened her again because it was a painful reminder that she is alive no more. I walked out from my room to hug her again. "It's okay." I said. "I'll find out what happened to you on that faithful day."

I was in quite a predicament with the sadness of Emily's great sorrow. I wasn't in a pleasent mood either. I couldn't even eat my lunch and I hardly went outside. So I figured the best person to call for helping in discovering my lovely Emily's death was my friend Nicholas Barbera. He had a thing with solving crimes and mysteries surrounding that of lost spirits and specters. He was like a young Sherlock Holmes. I rung him up on my telephone. By the way to the readers it wasn't like the kind nowadays. It was more of those kind you had to whind up with a crank and tell the operator which number to call. I would also use the kind that you have to spin a wheel to get the numbers in. Anyway I rung him up. I said, "Hello? Nicholas? Are you there? You are? Good I need you for something. I think it'd be up your alley. It concerns mystery of a spirit. How soon can you be here? Okay then. Goodbye."

So finally later my friend Mr. Nicholas Barbera arrived at my home. He wore a top hat and a monicole. He also wore a gray suit jacket and slacks. "So what seems to be the trouble that you've called me for?" He asked. "Well I'm happy you've asked." I said. "I've fallen in love with a ghost. A ghost of a bride whose heart glows within her chest. She longs for her groom and I haven't the faintist idea of what to do for her." Nicholas began to think for a minute. "What does she look like?" "Well," I said, "she has pale blonde hair and yellow eyes. She wears a long old looking wedding gown. Half of her face is masked by a shadow that won't vanish possibly cause of her vale. And as I stated her heart glows within her chest." "Give me a minute or two to do some investigating and I think I'll have this ghost problem solved."

As I was waiting Nicholas finally arrived back with a brown folder in his arm. The folder was marked with what probaby said "Liberty Square News articles." "Here." He said finally as he set them down. "These may be of some help to you. Read them carefully and memorize them." I opened the folder up and looked at the articles. I couldn't believe what I saw. They all were pictures of Emily with headlines of her and some fellow name Edward Gracey. "Look familiar to you?" He asked. I assume he said that. I was reading through a lot of the articles I barely paid attention to him speaking. One read, "Emily Cavanaugh to move to Liberty Square." Another read, "Aristocratic millionare Edward Gracey to marry Ms. Cavanugh." Then another read, "Edward Gracey and Emily Engaged." Then one stagarring headline read, "Emily Cavanaugh said to have died broken hearted. Some residents suspect foul play." This Edward Gracey fellow was in almost every article. He had black wavy hair, blue eyes, a blue bowtie, a tuxedo, a whithe shirt and a blue vest.

Then I looked back at the article that said that Emily died. He was seen lying dead near a mirror on a makeup desk in what appeared to be an attic. Her face was frozen in great sadness it appeared. Her weddin gown looked just like the one she usually wore. Close beside her was a folded up letter. I couldn't read the letter well enough but for the moment it didn't matter. What did matter was I needed to further investigate the scene of the crime. "Nicholas I'm forever in your debt for digging these articles up. Can you tell me where the place of these events occured in Liberty Square?" I asked. "I believe it took place in Gracey Manor. A brick mansion on top of a hill near a family plot (another term for graveyard to the readers) but I don't know that you ought to go. I heard rumors that ghosts and spirits haunt the mansion." He said. "But I would say you would be a fool to not go. The answer very well lies in there. But my advice be careful. You never know what'll haunt Gracey Manor. They dubbed the home because of its hauntings The Haunted Mansion."

I headed out in a carraige to Liberty Square and to the "Haunted Mansion" as Mr Barbera described. When I finally arrived I tipped the driver. The house was definetly creepy looking. Sort of spooky like. It wasn't like any other mansion I've ever seen. It was a brick mansion with windows that diamonds in them. Not like the jewels but more so the shape. There was a big dome looking area that might be a conseravtory. It stood on top of a hill overlooking the area it was near. In the area was a hearse completly unoccupied. But the harness where the horse would usually be was sitting like there was one there. Or maybe the horse was there but invisible. As mentioned by Nicholas there was a family graveyard complete with tombstones. A lot of them had humorous epatapths. One read, "Here lies Borther Dave. He chased a bear into a cave." Another read, "Rest in peace old Fred. A great big rock fell on his head." This other read, "Here lies Cousin Huet. We all know you didn't do it." Then two that caught my read, "Master Gracey laid to rest. No mouring please at his request. Farewell." Another had a womans face sculpted onto it and read, "Dear sweet Leota missed by all. In reigions beyond now having a ball."

I walked up onto the lawn of the mansion and knocked on the front door. the door slowly opened as soon as I finished. The room was empty except for a chandelier and a portrait of the man I saw in the papers. Somewhere a man was playing an organ in this house. The tune was haunting. Sounded like a funereal song. The track went something like this. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQkQ-F…

I wandered the foyer for a bit till I was greeted by a wall opening to another room and a voice that said, "Welcome Foolish Mortals to the Haunted Mansion. I am your host. Your Ghost Host." I don't know what made me do it but I decided to continue through to the next room. "Our tour begins her in this gallery. Here where you see paintings of some our guests as they appear in there corruptible mortal state. Kindly step all the way in please because there's no turning back now!" Suddenly the door slammed shut. I tried to break it open but no use. Not even magic shatered it. Then the mysterious host said to me, "Your cadaverous palor betrays an aura of forboading. Almost as though you sense a disquiting metamorphais." Suddenly the room began to grow longer. Four portraits of people began to strech with them. One had a lady holding an umbrella on a tight rope and underneath was a crocodile. Another had a man with his arms crossed and underneath him were two more men and at the last guy was a pool of quicksand. The third one had an old woman with a rose in her hand and underneath was a tombstone of some man named George and the bust of George had an axe in his skull. The final one was of a man in his boxers standing on a barrel of lit dynamite. Then the host said, "Is this haunted room actually stretching? Or is your imagination? Hmm? And consider this dismaying observation, this chamber has no windows and no doors! (Snickers) Which offers you this chilling challenge. To find a way out! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Of course there's always my way..."

Suddenly above my head I saw the ceiling had changed. Lightning was flashing in the windows and hanging from the rafters was a skelital corpse with a noose 'round his neck. Then a womans scream sounded when the room when dark. Then I heard the sound of bones crashing. I assumed it had to be the corpse. But strangley when the room brightened there was no bones to be found. The ceiling went back to normal. The portraits were still stretched out to reveal the misfortunes of those who must have died here. "Oh I didn't mean to frighten you prematurley!" the Ghost Host said laughing. "The real chills come later. Now look alive and we will continue our little tour. And let's stay with the path please." As I continued through the dark house I passed a gallery of portraits. They all had people in them. But some of them looked like monsters such as one with a picture of a fisherman covered in seaweed and starfish. Another looked like Count Dracula from the famous Bram Stoker novel. The strangest of all of them was they all appeared to be starring at me as I passed them.
