I really like the fashion for a cause idea...I am trying to start my own little venture Mad Hatter Crochet and I wanted to give proceeds to NAMI- National Alliance of the Mentally Ill, or one of its affiliate organizations, as I suffer from a mental illness and use my creativity as an outlet and calming method in my life. Your work is beautiful as well! So thank you for noticing me!

Okay...that's pretty crazy. Because I've thought about starting a knit company for years and the first title I thought of was Mad Hatter. We both must be great minds for thinking alike

I've developed the cover page for the website, but am not ready to do a website yet, however, I did sell my first hat by way of handing people who sounded interested business cards. I checked out your website as well, very cool! And it sounded, very personal! My partner also is mentally ill and he is learning to crochet scarves to go with the hats and is taking his time, going at his pace, so he will do the scarves and I will make the hats. You know the funny thing is, I started to make these hats to calm me during a really bad time and made them for 1 year- 2009. 2010, I had 22 ECT's, if you know what those are (shock treatments, ugh!) and I forgot, quite literally, how to crochet (ECT's affect memory), and 2011, over the summer, I said where's my crochet stuff, I remember how to crochet I think and I did it. So again, I've been making hats and giving them away ever since! I love them, aside from writing which is not apparent in my notes, crocheting is the other talent I have, I think. So, thank you soooooooo much for reading and hearing what I have to say and understanding! This is great! And now I feel like my mission is even fueled more than ever. So, thank you!
