# About me
After having drawn and painted with various mediums throughout my childhood, adolescence and adulthood, working through some long & short periods of 'creative stillness', I'm now rebuilding my portfolio in the midst of another phase where that essential energy has begun to surge through me again - however, that having been said, there are still days here and there when I feel intensely frustrated by the lack of inspiration. I am exploring my current phase of creativity with oils as my medium of choice - sometimes successfully (ahem, I suppose), sometimes not so successfully, and I remain, as many of us artists do, my own worst critic. I have also been dabbling again with pen & ink drawings, some of which I have submitted. All feedback welcome!I've moved around a lot over the years, living in different provinces, cities, towns and even in different countries, so that has been quite inspiring and I believe has contributed positively to my creative journey. Having had artistic guidance, both in my adolescent years from a teacher whom I will never ever forget, as well as in college from a teacher whom I wouldn't mind forgetting, I am mostly self-taught in a style that I would best describe as impressionistic realism. But then, isn't everything we see, hear and feel, subjected to our own personal impression of that which we are sensing, based on our own personal experiences, beliefs and knowledge?
I've struggled through a recent period where I had complete and total lack of inspiration which lasted for quite some time; but I am now getting my painting arm "back in shape" as over the last 8 months or so I have been feeling an intense need to create again. As said, at the moment I am working mainly in oils, which I love... I love the versatility and forgiveness (I suppose my work needs lots of forgiveness, haha) of oils and yet at the same time, they do take a long time to dry.
So, stay tuned and thank you all for your kind words and support xxxxx
