Yes, it was Gift of the Magi. I read it several different years in school.
I really like that one! Especially his use of vocabulary. It wasn't so dull and ordinary. And I love stories where you wait until the very last second to hear something that helps you put two and two together and you're just thinking, "OHHHH.."

Admitingly O'Henry makes me feel like a lost child at times, did you know that guy died at the end? when he was cutting the bedsheets up and using it to seal everything before turning the gas on?

haha.... you really ARE a poet! you know, for 4 years, all my self-portraits were done with webcam.... you can actually do some pretty cool stuff...see the lo-res stuff in my gallery
