I sure wind wakered a lot. But I'm so in love with the side characters from OoT/MM (for instance Guru-Guru, the mask salesman, the couriosity shop owner, Dampe, etc.) that I cannot love a zelda game without those people.

Not much, had to work during the weekend. In China there is a big holiday called dragon boat festival, so you don't have to work for 3 days, but that's why you have to work during the week end, it is horrible D: How about you?

Beijing is what I'm most familiar with, but we've had an awesome road trip of sorts a good 10 years back, going from Hong Kong all the way up to the capital. That one included places like Shanghai, Macao, some mountain villages, and yes, Xi'an. ;]

The next trip, whenever it may be, might well be going to the Sichuan area though. ^^

Very nice! I would like to go for a trip like that too, however I think the greatest places are not the large palaces or most of the other well-known attractions. Sometimes when you walk through the streets you can discover small, fameless but very beautiful temples or plazas, with merchants who sell candied fruits and steaming potatoes on a skewer, children with kites, old people sitting on the stairs, relaxing in the sunshine and smiling at you when you walk by. I think this is the "real China". Somehow gives you a feeling of peace.

Very true, yes. I had that feeling the last time we stayed in Beijing, in a small youth hostel in the Southwestern District, back when it still had Hutongs instead of shopping malls. Sure, it wasn't the cleanest of hostels and you could watch the neighbors killing stray dogs on the streets at night. But still, it somehow felt real. Come to think of it, I wonder if that hostel still exists... cause the surroundings sure as hell don't.

Actually, I don't really remember Xi'an being as polluted as is shown in your pictures. But maybe that's my memory fading. All I remember is that supposedly you can find the best Jiaozi restaurant in all of China in Xi'an. Can't remember the name though.
