Ah, well, in order to play multiplayer on Patapon 3, you need someone to actually connect to. Do you have someone you're trying to play with? PPSSPP doesn't support infrastructure mode, meaning you can't use the internet to join random peoples' hideouts. I can give you more details if you explain a bit more who you're trying to play with

He is trying to play with me, but when I get on the option "Invite to here", it just crashes. Same when I get to choose to go to his Hideout.
I do not know why.
And on Patapon 3, at the Herogate, we both disconnect.
We're both in the same country too.
How do we play??

So the first thing is if you're using a vpn or prometheus server to connect to each other. Do you have hamachi? If not, there is another way for you to try and connect.

We're both so confused, since we never used multiplayer on PPSSPP and we're not exactly that much into computer science or something.
So, I hope you don't mind, but what is a hamachi?
Or a prometheus?
Are they programs that help your computer or..
O-or what?

But no, we don't have hamachi.
What is the other way for us to connect?
I mean, we get to go to each other's hero-gates/pata-gates, but when we hit "ready" on Patapon 2, the connection gets lost to the both of us, and in patapon 3, it just crashes for me.

Well, I know for sure I havent been able to really do multiplayer in Pata2 with my friends, but I think thats just because it was never really optimized to do so.
So for Pata3 you can't even open your herogate without crashing, eh? I'm afraid I can't help you there :\

Hamachi is a VPN, I'm sure you know what that is. It's a program that allows you to connect to another computer as if you were both on the same wifi. It's what will allow you to use LAN with the PPSSPP. So!

First we'll try the option that doesn't need you to download anything. I'll try to make this as clear as possible, and remember, ask any questions for clarification.

STEP ONE: Both of you have to go to your settings in the PPSSPP.

STEP TWO: On the left, click open the tab called Networking

STEP THREE: Make sure "Enable Netoworking/WLAN" is checked. Don't worry, it won't break this particular game.

STEP THREE PLUS ONE: In the blank next to "Change PRO ad hoc server IP address" make sure it says 'coldbird.net'. This is the prometheus server. It's a server designated for people using the PPSSPP multiplayer. You'll see a bit more of it in the future.

STEP FIVE: Make sure "Enable built-in PRO ad hoc server" is UNCHECKED.

STEP SIX: Click on "Change MAC address" three times just to randomize it. This option isn't THAT important but still :/

STEP SEVEN: In order to make sure you're successfully connected to the online server, you'll have to go to this site: pro.coldbird.net/status/status…
When you open this page, you'll see a bunch of PPSSPP games. Don't be overwhelmed!

STEP EIGHT: Now, one at a time, both of you open your hideout to others with the Ad Hoc mode. After doing so, check back to the webpage and look for Patapon 3 amidst the games. You may have to refresh the page to see it. If Patapon 3 doesn't show up, IT MEANS YOU ARE NOT CONNECTED. The webpage is basically showing how many people are using the prometheus server to play which game.

STEP NINE: Now, one of you try to open your hideout and the other try to connect. If everything went right, then you guys should be connected!

If this fails, contact me again. I'll try to clarify things, or we can try to use hamachi. GL

We have the WLAN and the PRO ad hoc all checked.
And for some reason  can't even invite people because it just crashes.
