AlysL In reply to SkylerJB [2012-03-22 02:34:26 +0000 UTC]

Thank you...I think. LOL....by different, do you mean that I go from one extreme to the other (ie cemetery to archetechure to stormtrooper kilt guy to flowers...) or different as in "special"? LOL

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SkylerJB In reply to AlysL [2012-03-22 02:45:08 +0000 UTC]

As in it isn't the usual artwork or models you see all the time. You have flowers to the stormtrooper kilt guy which is a refreshingly new and nice

AlysL In reply to SkylerJB [2012-03-23 02:22:08 +0000 UTC]

lol...yes...my fav subject is cemetery or architechtural stuff...but I will take what I have. I just got the new camera and have been trying to do manual settings and learn what happens with different settings! The stormtrooper kilt guy...was thanks to too much guinness...LOL

thanks for the comments

we have the same name!!
I really love the photos you have of architecture

Thanks Alys! Love your name! LOL Visited your page, and some really nice drawings! My sister and brother do all the drawing in the family....I'm not talented and just try to make up with it with photographs! I love architecture and history, and because they tell their own stories, I find it easy to take the pictures. I read your journal entry - you are reading Pet Cemetery by Stephen King....he's a scary writer! I think that was the last book of his that I read - and you are right - if you have small children it is not a book to read. My daughter was the same age as the child in the book - it really scared me, cause I could see how you could be driven to attempt such a thing. I think that is what makes his stories great - they really consider human reaction to things and look at what if you acted on this.... His best book are The Stand and The Shining - if you haven't read them -do it! Good luck in school!

Alys-Cait In reply to AlysL [2012-01-28 18:57:30 +0000 UTC]

wow, thanks, I wasn't expecting such a nice reply I agree, architecture and history are something that I really enjoy, I used to go on camping holidays areound Britain when I was younger and we often visited castles that I always thought were beautiful.
I love Stephen King, I've only read Pet Sematary, I've been reading a lot of books for my literature class lately, so haven't had much time for more frivolous book but I shall definitely read those two. My friend says that Carrie is good too, and it's nice and short, only a days worth fo reading!
Thanks for the luck! I shall return it to you in whatever it is that you do, or wherever you need it most

(by the way, you ARE talented!)

Sorry about that – β€œtiming is everything,” I guess. I hope you’ll still come back and visit my gallery again anyway sometime…

Oh! I also just wanted to officially say thanks for the … I hope that you will always continue to find something new in my gallery of fantastical creatures and beautiful Elf maidens that catches your eye!

By the way, Alys… I'd be interested to know how you found my artwork, if you remember... Was it just random browsing, or part of a group, or in someone else's faves? Or maybe you've come to visit me before and I just don't recognize your username/avatar yet?... Just curious

It is well worth it, if possible, to get private access to the stones, you still aren’t allowed to touch the stones, but you can go into the center, which is what we did as a group.
Also near by Avebury is amazing, I HIGHLY recommend going there too!

AlysL In reply to sabbat-circle [2011-09-04 20:52:17 +0000 UTC]

Is that how you got a pic with no one in it? I would truly love to have some quiet time there! I visited Clava Cairn in Scotland, and was the only one there...it had a very peaceful -but not lonely -feel to the place. I'll have to research Avebury, as I haven't heard of it. Have you heard of Durrington - where there is was a timber circle that may be associated with Stonehenge...as it lines up with the midwinter solstice sunrise and Stonehenge lines up with the sunset. I was wondering if that is open for visitors too...
