I guess it is about that time! I'm up to next to nothing. I'm on 30 days of leave before I head to Hawaii, so I'm doing as little as possible, apart from working out. Big plans this weekend?

Well, I'm in the Navy so I have a 4 year tour on the USS Hawaii, a nuclear submarine. I'm a nuclear engineering laboratory technician, which is basically a chemist and radiological controls specialist. I also qualified as a mechanical operator, so I spend a lot of time in the engine room.

What about you, what do you do?

Oh that explains it. You must be pretty intelligent to get a job like that I would be too scared to go on a submarine to be honest. Being submerged in water seems so frightening :/

Eh, smart enough I guess. Took a lot of hard work to get where I am today. Submarines aren't too scary, I don't think. Kind of claustrophobic on some of them, though. But, I've been working on a submarine for the last year or so, so I'm used to it by now.

Ah, good stuff. I was a communication and philosophy major, with a minor in anthropology. You may wonder what that has to do with nuclear engineering. Absolutely nothing! I couldn't find a real job with my degree so I went into the Navy and made the switch. In the end, I decided I was all about the money. Too tired of working job to job in the advertising industry.

It does sound like a good job, definitely more interesting than most and the pay must be decent. I haven't a clue what I will end up doing. I mean I love art, I want to go get a degree in fine art, but job-wise... Not a clue haha.

Well, the pay is pretty good, but the hours are pretty long. Takes a lot out of you. I wouldn't suggest it for most people hah.

But yeah, you'll figure it out I'm sure. It's hard to choose between your dream and making money hah.
