I joined your group a while ago and would like to ask you for a critisim of my OC Dage Kenshin [link]
I have hear the term Mary Sue, but I really dont get it, what people mean with it, can you help me out here, from one fanfiction writer to another
and hopefully, we could become buds

Well, when someone uses the term "Mary Sue", they are mostly talking about an OC character that seems too perfect: a character with no flaws or just a few pointless flaws that don't really have an impact for the overall character. It could also mean a character that seems related to a main character in a series or a character that is too overpowered, but that doesn't seem to apply with your character.

Now, with that said, I don't think your OC is that bad. The main thing that me and my fellow admins wondered was what this character's role is in the main story (if that's when your character is at the academy). I personally like some of the little quirks about Kenshin, like the shyness towards women and using the word "Dude" a lot.

I can sort of see how others would call your OC a Mary Sue with you listing mostly positive traits, but I honestly don't think it's really hurting your character.

as a matter of fact, I am totally against that Mary sue stuff, cause a all-good character is plain boring. I watched alot of Castlevania and decided to follow that very same pattern.

Good people turning bad... Well, that really depends on how it happens and if it seems plausible when taking everything into account. I think it could be good if done right. You just need to know what you're doing.
