right you. that's all because our specific pronunciation. just making loanwords easier to pronounce.

oh, not only muscovites. that's how some letters in words sound in spoken language(口语-in chinese). it's normal.
yeah, reading "dorogoi"(which means expansive or sweetheart) you can pronounce "daragoi", but the only sound can't be changed is "o", because of the emphasis.

i've heard it's really hard to understand Germans, when you speak with closed teeth(don't know how to say it correctly). do you have difficulties in everyday life understanding spoken language?

when I first came to Germany (I'm from Lisbon), I already spoke German: I learnt it at school, alongside with English and French. So, I never had those problems. I know lots of Russians who are studying music in Germany: all learn it very fast.
Germans normally don't speek "with closed teeth". What is true yet is that in the North (Gamburg, Kiel) , where they speak a perfect german, and fast but very clear, they do so almost without moving their lips...

yes, Büstenhalter is the bra , abbreviated BH
and Buchhalter is someone who writes down money things in books (well, nowadays in computers), and literally "Halter" means someone who holds a thing, such as Rekordhalter: someone who has a record (in sports)

the school, where you learnt so many foreign languages, must be great.
well, you see, being in another country and hearing only local speech makes it faster and easier to learn new words/phrases/even new(foreign) languages, than doing it in your motherland(obviously).

i just can't imagine, there is a language, which you can speak without moving lips, until i see people, who really can

wow some German words mostly like Eng, where some sounds are replased with "chh" and "t". there is also lots of logic in this language, so it might be not too difficult to study.
is kindergarten Germ(is it correct?) or Eng word?

Garten=garden

Kindergarten is german, as is Backenbart, Halstuch (galstyX), Schlagbaum, butterbrot (brot= Xleb; butter = miasa or something like that)
cauchemar (kashmar), fourchette (fyrshèt), equipage, plage, garage are French

in Portugal, for those sun blinds, we use two words: jelosia (you see the family?) and also "persiana", in english they say also Persian blinds
it seems those contraptions came from Iran

I would say, instinctively 80% of Germans don't like anything Russian: first of all because of rivalry, then because of historic reasons, indoctrination, evil things the Red Army did in the Eastern provinces, and nowadays because of those 600,000+ Russians who came to Germany in the 80's and 90's and behave very bad. I know you won't believe what I'm telling now, but it is true!


Well, and 20% of germans just love Russia and Russian literature + music just on behalf of the same reasons as the others don't like it!

I myself have been in Petersburg+Moscow in 2008, and the only foreign languages I overheard were English and Swedish. I didn't meet a single german in Russia

I DO believe you, because these reasons are quite possible. The only reason, i have doubts about is rivalry(which was mainly between the USSR and the USA).

1st) the stylish apparel theme: Russian and Czech dievitchkas very often exxagerate on the clothing issue. For many Germans, they just seem like whores, they behave like bitches (they come here, force the men into marriage, just to leave them after 2 years, the time they need to get some special Visa to stay in the West). There were so many cases like this in the past, that everyone got this preconceived ideas. That ALL Russian girls are sukas. That's the word, right? As for the boys: they indulge in alcoholism, loud manners, car thieving and so on. A good friend of mine, opera singer from Murmansk who studied in Piteri, she was shocked when she overheard some of those GermanRussians speak in the streets. She kept saying "ujas".
So, when you hear that Germans don't like women to wear over-stylish clothes, it is in part the truth. But they do like to see girls in elegant or beautiful attire. I think the degree of not wanting or not accepting beforesaid exxagerations stems also from the fact that they-the men- feel forced to restart the old Tarzan and Jane theatre play when a girl pops up with too beautiful or too sexy things on her: they just think "hey, what does this babe expect from me? A thick bank account and a BMW in the garage? But I will love and commitment from my girlfriend, not just stupid talk the whole day about going to the spa or to the manicure or about silly shopping!"

2st theme) I was 3 weeks in Petersburg and one in Moscow (I went there via train and without Platzkarte (this too is a German word, meaning ticket (Karte) that entitles you to a certain place in the train (Platz)). I loved Piteri and the people there. I had contacts with musicians from the Conservatora, went 4 times to the Mariinsky (Shostakovich's "nos", ballets, Evgeni Onegin), visited Peterhof, and had good times. I felt cosy on the streets. But Moscow was different. Bad experience, loud city full of cars, arrogant people, and it rained there the whole week (end of May 2008). In all, I liked Russia a lot - it remembered me in many ways of the Portugal of 25 years ago when I was a kid.

3rd theme) rivals in arms they were, and in science, and in music. It's a strange sort of love&hate. I'm talking about the people who show some interest in Russia...for the other ones, it is still the big threatening BEAR in the east...nothing of Shishkin's cute bears in the woods

1) yes, you're right, because after the border of Russia opened, many "bad girls" wanted to leave, marry someone not-from-Russia and live in another country. That was their choice. And the way the have made it, was terrible.

There was the whole generation of spoiled people, it happened because of parents, who had no time for their kids.
2) I see. Moscow is good for visiting historical places by tour. And it's a big city of big money, which are always no-one-knows-where. People there are too concerned with themselves, families, jobs and money, that there's no time for smiling.
I like Petersburg too despite I was there nearly 7 years ago, when I mostly was a child, I remember architecture(great afford it made on me), small houses and the river, also some fountains from Peterhof.

1)Just so that you don't blame me: I was just trying to answer to your questions -without prejudice.
I know suka and the like are bad words. One example: there was this pianist from Murmansk. She studied in Petersburg (her prof was a renowned person, Zagarovskaya)and wanted badly to come to germany. She managed to get an examination here, so the conservatory here would accept her (or not, depending on the exam). In Piteri she met a violinist from Wladiwostok. This violinist , hearing she was coming to this precise city, told her that a sister of her was already studying here, and she could stay in the room with Bella(the sister) during the exam time. That was very kind of Amina and her sister Bella.
After arriving here and getting to know Bella, they began with their girl's talk. Bella told the pianist that she was in love with a neighbour (she lived in an apartment with 6 rooms, and in 5 of them there were other students). Can you imagine what the pianist did, although she even didn't know if she would be accepted to study in Germany? She went to the room of that guy, straight into his bed, and began a liaison with him. The other girl, Bella, went mad. Had to go to psychiatry, lost her room in the apartment because she couldn't work and pay the rent. The pianist stayed in that room.She took her the Love and the room away!

Stories like these: I've heard so many! The first time I heard something like that I thoght: That is a cinema plot, or a soap-opera libretto. But no, with some of those Russian girls, it is bitter reality.

2)While in Russia, I wasn't alone. In Moscow, I was strolling with a friend, a Russian girl. When she asked passers-by for a street, she got never an answer. People yelled back at her. I don't think the only reason for them being inpolite is their preoccupation with earning a living. How much impolite then would persons also be in Manila, or Säo Paulo, or Madrid? To smile and be nice does not take energy. On the contrary: where all are sympathetic to everyone else, life becomes much simpler & easier & nice. Have you ever been in Finland? Then you'll understand what I mean.

oh, it's very sad story. Poor Bella... I actually think, that bad people existed everywhere, not only in Russia. Yes, there was lots of sukas some years ago, there are some nowadays, but not as much. It's getting better slowly.
Some time ago, in September, my friend, Sasha(the girl), refused to be girlfriend of one boy(she might be in love with him, but was scared of having relationship like this). And then he asked another girl(who is Sasha's friend) to be his gf, but she refused, saying, that Sasha was her friend and more important for her, that he was. So, I can't remember of sukas in my life
Some years ago I also helped my 2 friends to become together with 2 my girlfriends(if it's correct to say, that trey are my friends and they are female).

2)It's really strange, that must be something, she was saying wrong. Really. Despite every time I ask for a street, passers-by rarely know how to get there, they never yell at me. But somebody can ignore.
I've been in the UK. year ago people there were smiling, but this year they were sad and never said "sorry" during our visit, but they were ready to help.
Agree with you, it's simple to give so much positive, but it's impossible to make everyone smile.

Bella has a beautiful life now, but at that time it was a pain.
O fcourse there are bad people everywhere. But the point is, why do especially Russian women (in Europe we have got Brazilian, North African, Thai, Moldavian women aplenty looking , for the same economic reasons in their homeland, for a better living. What amazes people (and creates those nasty preconceived ideas like "all women from East are bad") is the brutality and purposive character of their actions. You simply cannot trust them. You could even talk about statistics here: I was once in the Portuguese Consulate here in Stuttgart. I had to demand a new passport. There was a guy, a portuguese, who was trying to arrange his affairs: he was married to a Russian from petersburg (no, not from Kazachstan or Uzbekistan or Baku). After 2 years of marriage, she simply took all their money (actually, HIS money, since she did not work) and disappeared : she was living now with a bielorussian student. It seems the parents of that student had a big industry and were rich...
The person of the Consulate began sermoning the guy: "You are so stupid, why marry a woman from there? Don't you know that they have different moral standards?" and then the consulate person showed a real big shelf full of dossiers. These all (and there are for sure not many portuguese living in this area of germany who are/have been married to Russian women) were divorce dossiers !!!!
The friend the opera singer of Murmansk told me that in Russia it is normal to marry one, two or three times.
The case of Sasha (your Sasha) is a beautiful tale of friends NOT wanting to let a brief (?) romance spoil the friendship. Almost pushkin-esque!!

2) no, not at all: I was there with that opera singer of Murmansk. She talks a very good Russian. The Metro station we got out had the same name as the street we were looking for. But no one would (I don't write "could" because I know they could tell where that street is, they just didn't want to) tell where it was. I saw a milizia man on the other side of the street and asked Katya (the name of the singer) if it wouldn't be better to ask the policeman....and her reaction was -for me- completely unexpected. She advised me not to even LOOK at men with uniform. Or else I'd get into BIG trouble.

That kind of statistics makes really bad reputation for Russian women. For Russian basically. I've never heard of it. And now I've realized, how important to control our society. But how can I participate?..
