simply move to tears!
dang!
you are
making me
feel…
wow!
at a lost of how to say,
what it is,
that is on my mind,
or even how to
explain my simple desire…
man!
you took me back in time…
to being a little girl,
dressed in white.
with ribbons and two fat,
pony tails in my hair…
singing,
outside in the garden
making mud pies…
and how it feels when
i ‘m with favorite gurl.
dat being,
my granny...
as i now,
close my eyes,
i can visualize,
when she kisses me,
on my forehead.
and says…
“it will be okay!”
(tears)
then you bring me back,
to reality
kicking
&
screaming
all the way…
crying out
“no!”
“please! let me stay!”
however,
you made
me glad again…
got me,
rockin’ and swaying,
dancing around,
in my pure
white gown,
running through fields
barefoot and i am alive…
“smile!”
(tears)
remembering how,
i embrace my new life,
i love myself,
presently…
riding the train down
to new york city
me, myself, & i
backpack, and laptop
is all i need,
sit,
read,
poets…
oh, how
i love
my time…
to reflect
while on board
in the midst of
“words on fire!”
taking me higher…
but the biggest surprise!
for me now
is this simple wish…
more like i require,
or better yet,
“i need?”
(tears)
dayum at me,
the person
who needs nothing
and nobody
no longer homeless
no longer abused
no longer powerless
making my way…
strong and independent;
a female,
a woman,
a lady,
a girl!
alone and standing!
tall on my own!
(tears)
currently pondering,
why?
can’t these words,
be just for me.
instead of being,
meant for me to read…
all grown up
and wanting…
a hug from you…
a forehead kiss …
the voice of
moses the poet
whispering in my ears
"it will be okay"

thank you for the inspiration, had the day off College today so uninspired & overwhelmed with what to shoot in my portfolio, I had an interview with someone I called a mentor figure, which flattened me, 'she said photography was just another job'. I thank you for you view points and bringing me one step up that ladder.
