No, I made it up, but it's based on something Marla says.

In the book, there was a scene where she says "I haven't been fucked like that since grade school".

However, another line of dialogue was also shot, but is a deleted scene

"I want you to have my abortion." (Straight from the novel)

Frankly I;m surprised they didn't use the latter of the two.
Though maybe they were concernd it would create one holy shitstorm.

i know, tis a queer fucker that college. but i was talking to a girl who i used to be in school with, she did the ADM portfolio course in ballyer, she dropped out after she appiled to ncad. so i asked her if she got in, and she was 5 points off (le serious ouch) and that was her theory as to why she didnt get in. cos she got 600 points in her dun laoghaire assesment, and she got DIT and all those places....ncad is really just there to screw with our minds....

I've seen stories of unusual marking like this before, mostly at first hand. In my former PortF Prep course in Colaist Ide all the applicants from the 2 P.P. classes got between 300 and 310 points.

And there was a HUGE variation in quality of portfolio.

Back in Secondary school soom of my classmates (none of whom I know got into NCAD) used to put seals of masking tape on the inside of their portfolios, because they weren't entirely convinced they actually would be opened up and inspected. SERIOUSLY.

Applying to college is nerve whacking enough withiut the NCAD reputation.

and another co-inky dink, 4 people from my secondary school (that i can remember) who got into NCAD ALL had parents who were either working in ncad or art teachers. i shit you not. granted, their stuff was good, but there were also a few people who applied who's standard was equal or better who didnt get in.....but got massive marks in dun laoghaire etc anyway. queer indeed sez i to aul mr brennan.

completly free, only took me 30 mins to download over a 56k modem line (ie Crappy line.)

It's pretty damn easy to pick up and use (certainly a ton easier than PaintshopPro or Photoshop. Or Flash, which can only be used by Swiss people, Stephen Hawking or the Asgard (from Stargate SG).

If you do decide to try it, make sure you download the right one (y'know Windows Mac or Linux), and if it''s windows you need to also download the ".gif" patch, which lets you make ".gif" files. (the only small files I know that can be animated or use transparency.)

Say... didn't you say you aren't an animation Student or is it something Robo-Mark is wrong about... If you aren't an anim-waster, what flavour waster are you? ^_^

nah animatin' aint the life for me. i cant draw for shit. but for about 6 months everyone thought i was in animation, which was quite funny. then they realised i was in fibre art.

(i can hear going "fibre whaaaa??" everyone does that)

it's still a mystery as to what it is i do in said course. and im gonna keep it that way. for no particular reason

far as I know she worked in an arts & craft store in Blanch.

Really, as for me, "Mr. Ex-Anim waster" sums me up pretty well, yup! Although as for right now, I'm putting a portfolio together for NCAD, and going to apply in Jan next year to Core and NCAD. Although I do have to repeat a Leaving Cert subject *humiliation...*

I was kinda pissed off when I found out I didn't have an animator's grit, mostly because drifting away from the friends I made would be inevitable But on the upside, I still manage to keep in touch for the most part I guess.

well would you lookit that, we was in the same ncad boat all along and we didnt know it. i applied last year, was 30 points off. was sad. so came to ballyer and took over THE COLLEGE. next, the world!!! ahem. i said the loud part quiet and the quiet part loud. aaar.

and me mysterious fibre art course has one year left, then i will also have to leave the warm familiar ballyer, which will involve drifting from friends too. I had better see you in ncad or i will hunt you down and wither your livestock, ya hear??

In my life, I've been through 2 car crashs, three bus crashes, an older brother and years of tre climbing recklessness.

I have never broken a bone once, or spent more than two hours in a hospital. worst I've ever had was just 3 stitches when I was 8 and one case of the shingles when I was 5.

I've never had to go to the dentist to get a tooth extracted. My first actual visit to the doctor was 5, I literally never had a cough, cold or ANYTHING until I was five.


Long story short: Getting hbeat into orbit sounds ok, so long as the "price" is right.

For my next performance, I will hijack my (our?) future college's alias for my own entertaiment!
