It's... the relationship I have with my parents, so to speak... To me, it feels as though... it's been incredibly unsupportive... and that staying in that relationship will only keep me more in a state of... bondage, as they say? Well, in a rut, as I once mentioned.

No matter for how long it goes, it never quite develops for any meaningful distance, and even when there is any good development, it all goes back to square one- Or, worse yet, a square further back than square one. And then it keeps going on and on, just like that...

Are they more of a platonic or a romamtic partner though is my (curious) question?

hmmm, depends what you define by robbing the life out, i mean depends what happens on the absolute way of things.
i'm not clear i guess, but i mean than on a purely rational way, what happens may not be appreciated by you, but could be for your own good in the end.
what i just mean is to neutrally see if what is happening is truely toxic, or could be beneficial for you on the long term
