Yeah XPSs are sexy, and they seem to be what most people are suggesting. I have heard of some problems, but I think no more than others...I'll keep asking though.

I think the census here would be to go with a Dell - you can get a student discount and a lot for your money if you play your cards right.

For art I generally use Photoshop CS2, painter 9.5, and openCanvas 4.5 (there's a free version of this available here.

I also have a Wacom tablet (because drawing with a mouse sucks).

Heh, yeah I used to not have much of a life on the weekends. Still don't, really, my friends and I just bum around.

Yeah, definitely make an appointment to see SFAI.

Oh I got a laptop - my next desktop I'm going to build, but I needed something portable.

High school is such a waste of time. 'Nuff said. And yeah, if you have a free weekend, or some time in the summer, come on down!

You'd be surprised - Alienware isn't as overrated as everyone thinks. They're reliable, they get the job done, and to get a Dell system with the same components as my laptop (if they had offered it - they didn't) it would have cost me almost twice as much as my Alienware. Not saying Dells are bad by any means, just don't underestimate

Aeigh, SATs...I drew pictures on mine! I did okay, not great, but I slept through high school anyway (though still pulled off a good GPA).

If you want to really check out Cogswell, keep on eye on the calendar for the next open house. Or, if you want, I'll be starting there in May, and I could show you the school.

And yes, the separate degrees are interesting!

3.9? Yeah, no problem - you're crazy smart. I do believe there is an advanced animation program, and animation and modeling are separate majors, so you can get more in each.

I had to save for four years to get my Alienware, and it was well worth it, but I definitely know your pain of not having a computer than can handle Maya :[

Yeah, your parents are pretty cool! My dad was showing him some stuff on Cogswell. It's a cool school, but go where you want! I dunno, between the AIs or Cogswell...the more I think of it, it's a tough choice, but I'm happy to be going there!
