*whips out glasses and adjusts them* T'ank ya', t'ank ya'! Let's see...hmm...I don't really know, to be honest. I haven't had OTPs in a long time; I haven't properly adjusted to calling myself a shipper, either. I support/like it very much, and find it an interesting story worth telling; definitely *one* of my top favorite Elsa crossovers on a list that is quite nonexistent, but the influence is due to YouTube (not due to the influence of anything I listed on its club; I could explain that in depth, but probably in another comment! I don't want to this one to be too long for you! ). I think more than anything, I just like explaining what people tend to overlook about crossover A or B (or any other subject matter I happen to be asked to expand on). Some days I'd be close to calling myself a shipper, other days I'm eh, but it's more or less because I haven't "shipped" in years.

I think the word intimidating would be a better synonym.   It's really...serious. When I first saw it I was like stepping from a kiddie pool into the ocean. The big leagues and - yeah, I bet I just lost you, huh?    What I'm trying to say is that it made me notice Felsa and how it wasn't a joke. Does that make sense? I have a habit of saying things that make sense when I think them but in reality is just awkward.

By the way, how do you do that? You know, make your text smaller and stuff.
I just can't figure out how to do that.

I understand perfectly! YouTube is a very powerful influence in life. Some ships I just started to ship because people bashed on them and me being me wanted to prove them wrong, so I began coming up with reasons why the ship could work.Being a Shipper is a hard job and I honestly don't blame you for not wanting to fully call yourself one.  By the way you can make your comments as long as you want, I don't mind since I like typing myself.

Oh no! Then I feel bad about that. I have this horrible inability to make things sound like....the opposite of srs-business? Even when I'm trying to. I think it's because I'm typically used to writing literature, so anything I write kind of has that story tone to it. I didn't want to get anything wrong because I was stuffing other people's ideas into one, so "writing" that made me feel pretty intimidated myself, but I took it on to force myself to fall in love with words again (I've had a serious writer's drought) and really get back into the feel of things, regardless of topic. So what it really came out looking like was a fanfiction. I, at first, never thought it was serious enough to need an explanation;  I was content with just drawing/editing it and putting it out like whatev's. Crossovers shouldn't be srs. It wasn't until the bashing "made" it serious (and not of the "crossover" -- as it never is -- but your mere, simple interest in it), that I felt like I guess I have to give its group a reason and collaborate everyone else's. ; The "ruining Tangled for kids/ship Jelsa because it doesn't ruin Frozen or Tangled" accusations were annoying; don't come for people's personal character. It's not that intense, like...
Ech, but maybe I should take down everything past "Stage-players."

Oh! You use < small > (insert text here) < / small > or < sub > < / sub >! Without the spaces, of course.

It can be! ; As for crossovers, them having a good pscyhological blueprint isn't enough to get me to like the romance people conjure between them. A good psychological blueprint can be attributed to just about anything (friendship, siblings, mother/son, father/daughter, etc), so I don't care about what anyone has in common; that's always a backseat to romance. I kind of need to "see them in a video" first.

As for Eugelsa/Felsa, I was pretty turned off by it. In idea, anyway. Aside from what I thought felt incompatible, I was unable to see any Elsa romances in all the crossovers I'd seen.  Once I was asked to actually do a video of Eugelsa/Felsa (which I avoided for a hot minute), I kind of "got it." Aside from the lyrics in the video giving a clear message about the crossover that I didn't see at surface-value, it wasn't often (to me) that two characters could startlingly look like a believable pair with romantic chemistry just by a series of frames being played one after each other. It looked natural, like they brought out each other's emotional reponses (which is pretty weird, since they're not part of the same franchise at flipping all). It didn't even need to be maniped or rendered. Then an Idina/Zachary (Elsa/Eugene) voiceover was put together, and I was done. ; The vocal collab of Idina's Frozen bits and Zachary's Tangled bits were so silky, that they brought all the vulnerability/intimacy out of the crossover's frames as well. It was just weird. Like, you'd think they were in the same movie, talking to each other in the most sensitive way, and were a real couple. I still make this face: O_o;; when I say I talk about it.

Shipping is very intense! Definitely beyond liking and supporting! So I was never sure if I was a shipper.

Sorry for the late reply!

I agree completely. Crossover, no, shipping in general is supposed to be a fun event — not the Olympics. Perhaps it's because I'm biased but I do think that some Jelsa shippers have ruined the experience of shipping for lots of people, because they're so aggressive.   They make everything so intense.

Sometimes some pairings just 'click' and make sense — you just have to find a reason to prove that to everyone else. I definitely understand the 'see them in a video' part, since you never fully start shipping a pairing before watching a tear-jerking video of 'em.

That video sounds awesome! What's it called?
As you've probably noticed from my conversations with my other buddy (XD) I ship Icebreaker and I'm kinda sorta getting into Flynn/Astrid. Nonetheless I understand, and really don't mind, Felsa. In fact, I think it's rather clever.

It's kind of like that 'directioner', 'directionator' thing. Maybe you're just a shippinator instead of a shipper. That make sense?

You said the Olypmics! That was clever! The experience of crossovers? It's possible. I think more of it has to do with the fact that there are a lot of people in its community who don't understand the guidelines of a crossovers fandom, and what "a crossover" includes. It seems a good portion are more or less thinking, "who can be the most suitable (thus possible) love interest for Elsa," (and there's something unsettling/disenfranchising about this mentality, especially as a Frozen fan) rather than what will be a fun AU combo.

Oh, it's a few! Unfortunately the audio quality isn't perfect, but I still came out thinking, "...I want Idina and Zachary to work together for a completely different project one day," after everything was put together. -->

I like and understand Icebreaker myself! It's a lot like Eugelsa to me (Ralph/Eugene remind me of each other XD;;; ). Aw! I've never heard it be called clever before! What makes you think so?

A shippinator! It almost sounds like the ship-terminator, too! I went and looked up Directionator; is it from the One Direction fanbase? They call them fake fans! D: D: D:

x-Jazzy-B-Real-x In reply to ArmySparkle [2014-10-29 20:07:58 +0000 UTC]

Sorry, when I said, "who can be the most suitable (thus possible) love interest for Elsa," (and there's something unsettling/disenfranchising about this mentality, especially as a Frozen fan) I meant people leaning towards "the most *likely*possibility" in a canon setting. Hence arguments like, "But ___ has ___ in canon, so why pair her with him?" They're seeing crossovers like *legit pairings* the way *canon franchises* do, rather than ships that are illegitimate by default because they are *cross-ships.* They don't understand that a crossover pairing breaks canon period; it is an AU in which the characters are *taken out of context (their own worlds)*, so it's completely irrelevant to address who dated who; why not bring up the fact that A and B are from two totally different films?

It's either this, or they think people are pairing A with B because "they'd make a legit pairing," a lot like their motivations behind their own crossover, which I -- IMO -- find not only out of touch with reality, but against what it means to be a Frozen fan. I don't cross-pair Elsa because I feel like "she needs a love interest," or A will "be a legitimately suitable love interest for her," I cross her over with character-combos that I would find interesting in a fanfiction (aka illegitimate) world because of the personalities in it. Too many others have entertained other motives; for me, a love interest in canon is something I'm against. Got nothing to do with that "don't need a man" bullshit; I'd just like her to spend a little more time rebuilding her life by her own two hands.

That is true. >v> I never thought of it like that. I'm gonna add that.

No, no worries! I don't expect quick replies or anything! I'm not quick myself!

I think what you're going on is more like 'Crack' crossover shipping than regular shipping. Crack, in case you didn't already know, is when you ship something based on the artificial surface. Like if you say you ship Adam (Beauty and Beast) with Ariel (The Little Mermaid) because they both have red hair. [Did you know Adam had red hair? I thought it was brown but Disney lists it as a light auburn or something.]
That's a crack ship. People generally ship them for fun or if they enjoy a certain drawing or manip. Crossover ships usually have a bit more thought put into them.
(Sorry for the history lesson but once I started I couldn't stop.)

I totally agree with that thing with Elsa. She probably  needs a few months (maybe years) to re-discover herself.

I'm glad you were impressed with my genius.

Oh my god dude

So when I saw that when you favorited my Percianca picture, I decided I'd go check out your page. I always do that whenever I get a fave...I'm like "hmmm, this person faved my picture...I'm curious to see what else they like. So I'm looking through your favorites and I accidentally stumble upon Jackunzel. At first, I'm like "Hmmm, that's weird" but the more I think about it...the more perfect they start to seem. And before I know it, I'm completely obsessed to the point where I'm coming home from school every day to waste hour after hour scrolling through fanart and trying to read every single fanfiction that's ever been written about them, and not getting a bit of homework done. Jackunzel has completely screwed up my work edit, but damn, am I ever enjoying every guilty minute of it. So long story short, thank you for introducing me to this amazing pairing. It's taken over my life, but I wouldn't have it any other way

Oh, and thanks for the fav. Good to know someone else appreciates Percianca X3

Jackunzel is a pretty awesome ship, is it not? I have to say that I completely agree with your interpretation of Jackunzel at first because, if I'm being honest, that's exactly what I was like.
I've only just gotten over the obsessive stage but I still have a few cravings every now and then. I'm working through it though.

It's no big deal about the fav; Percianca deserves a lot more credit. It's kind of sad how overlooked it is in favor of Percabeth.

Yeah, I always like to get to know people who favorite my stuff...via stalking their page XD
Lol yeah, that's often the case with me and crossover/crack pairings. At first I'm like "Wait, what? Why would you pair them together? :/" But the more I think about it, the more sense it makes and the more I start to fangirl. And seeing as I've never been a die-hard shipper of JackxTooth fairy or RapunzelxFlynn, it wasn't hard for me to get REALLY obsessed with Jackunzel XD
Not gonna lie, I've got a ways to go before I'm out of the obsessive phase Still working through reading all the fanfictions!

It really does! Sadly, EVERY pairing with Percy (or Annabeth, for that matter) gets overlooked in favor of Annabeth. Other pairings with Percy are either hated or practically ignored. Poor Perachel...such a cute shipping when it comes right down to it, but gets endlessly demonized by rabid Percabeth shippers. They're insane, I tell you X(

Stalkers unite!

I know exactly what you mean, girl! In my beginning 'shipper' stage I believed that canon pairings where the way to go, so the first time I saw a crossover pairing, I was more than a little freaked out.
But as I thought about it I began to like, and get used to crossovers. Been here ever since.
Oh...that's gonna take a while! Trust me from experience. So just go with the cravings. XD

They're like roaches. You can chop off their heads but they'll still keep crawling. (That was a really weird reference but oh well) Personally I don't think Percabeth was really all that well-developed, but just some last minute romance to make things more interesting. Honestly I've never really seen Percy with anyone from the series but if I had to choose someone, I'd prefer it to be Bianca. Simply for the fact of the romance that never-was-but-coulda-kinda-been.

Yes indeed! *goes back to facebook-stalking attractive boys*

Lol I started shipping in...what was it, elementary school? And back then, i definitely went along with canon. Nowadays I usually ship crack pairings in the same fandom because with crossovers, I figured it would just be too damn hard to actually make them work XD But with Jackunzel and Felsa, well...I realized making them work is actually the FUN part! Oh, the fanfictions

Lol I know XD Trust me, I've been here before...Clato, Stucky, Petris, Jamissa (JamesxNarcissa from Harry Potter XD)...DAMN YOU, SHIPPY FEELS!

Lol very good analogy I guess there were a few hints of Percabeth throughout the series, and I'd ship them pretty hard if not for the crazy-ass shippers. I think I like them more as a BroTP Yeah, I love Percianca Maybe the reason Rick Riordan killed her off was because he was detecting some chemistry between them, and he wanted to kill the ship before he got tempted to put them together instead of Percy and Annabeth D:

ArmySparkle In reply to InfraredUltraviolet [2014-09-22 22:58:32 +0000 UTC]

I started to get into Felsa but then I realized I was just putting random guys with her in hopes of having another ship to rival Jelsa. That's why I now ship Icebreaker. What's your favorite ship involving Elsa?

I have this bad habit of shipping something before I watch/read/whatever; I get involved in whole fandoms without watching/reading a single thing. Did you know I still haven't watched ROTG yet Jackunzel is still my OTP? That's how I got into Taang, NaruSaku, and Gray-ghost.
I've gotten so deep into crossovers that nowadays I rarely ship canon - it bores me.

Anyway the one thing I like better than shipping is dream-casting. Don't even get me started.

Yeah, there were a few hints but I just kind of viewed them as best friends.
I'm sort of surprised more people don't ship it but it's probably because she died so early in the series. Rick couldn't have waited a few more books?Sometimes I just wanna. . .

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

InfraredUltraviolet In reply to ArmySparkle [2014-09-27 01:25:08 +0000 UTC]

Lol the way I got into Felsa was because of the opposite reason...I needed someone to ship Eugene/Flynn with to rival Eupunzel, since the first thing Jelsa shippers always shove in Jackunzel shipper's faces is "WHAT ABOUT EUGENE?!?!?" I'm gonna guess Icebreaker is ElsaxWreck-it-Ralph? Can't really comment on that one since I never saw Wreck-it-Ralph And my favorite Elsa ship is...well...Felsa He's the only guy I really ship her with, since none of the other Elsa pairings appeal to me much. She just doesn't seem like the type to just go for any guy.

Lol that can happen to me sometimes I have a friend whose Hunger Games OTP is KatnissxGale, and she's never even read the series XD Haha go figure! If you watch RotG, it'll probably just make you love Jackunzel even more X3
Lol I feel that. I try to ship canon, but I almost always default to crack ships without even meaning to.

Dream casting is fuuuuun! But it bugs me whenever you look and look and no matter how hard you try, you can't find an actor who looks like you imagined a character looking D:

Yeah, I think I like them better as besties.
Lol everyone just sort of jumped on board the Percabeth bandwagon without thinking. Practically no one was willing to give Perachel the time of day or even consider other pairings like Perlia or Perisse. Ikr, Bianca's death upset me so much! Have her in the story just long enough to make me love her and ship her with Percy and then kill her off??? Thanks a lot, Rick! -_____-

ArmySparkle In reply to InfraredUltraviolet [2014-09-29 20:29:05 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I can imagine Elsa being really picky. Oh, and yeah, Icebreaker is Wreck-it-Ralph/Elsa; I would go on this rant explaining all the reasons they should be together but since you haven't watched Wreck-it-ralph...well, I don't see the point.
Could you explain why you ship Felsa? I'm a bit curious.

After you go crossover, you can't...uhm...cross back over? But yeah, canon just seems so weak compared to the colorful relationships you can create by mix-and-matching movie characters. Besides, it's way too much fun.

Exactly! So then you just have to settle for someone who doesn't even come close to what you were thinking. That's sort of how I feel with Bianca Di Angelo; I just can't find a replica for what I imagine she'll look like. Have you found someone?
I don't really understand why so many people like Percabeth. I just can't find a reason, other than how they (Percy and Annabeth) filled up the Romance required tab. Then again, Percy doesn't really have that many options once it comes to romance. The only slight romance he had with girls other than Annabeth was Calypso, Rachel, and Bianca. Even then they played small parts.

Lol well I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume they're a great couple XD Although some of the fanart I've seen of them looks kinda awkward, with Ralph being so much bigger than her and all XD
Hmmm...I think this sums it up pretty well the-queens-thief.deviantart.co… But long story short, they both had troublesome, lonely childhoods, they both are introverted, they both felt the need to "put on a mask" and hide their true selves (Eugene with Flynn Rider, and Elsa with being the "perfect girl" her parents always wanted), they both are perceives as being "bad" but have a good heart (Flynn because he's a thief, Elsa because she accidentally froze Arendelle), and they both ultimately decide to be themselves and not be ashamed of it. Plus, their personalities balance each other out very well, and Flynn has a maturity that many guys paired with Elsa lack, but still has a goofy, funny side. Plus, with both of them being in their 20s, it's difficult to find anyone else to pair either of them with without there being a large age gap

Lol I guess so XD Although I ship both crossover pairings and pairings with characters from the same movie. For instance, I've always loved HiccupxAstrid, but lately I've gotten really into HiccupxAnna <3 And I also ship ToothxBunnymund from RotG, which is definitely in the crack realm despite them being from the same movie X3

The best I could find for Bianca was Isabelle Fuhrman, but she's a bit too pale since Bianca is described to have olive skin. But her hair and face look pretty close to what I imagine Bianca looked like.
I can understand the appeal of the pairing, but why the fans have to be so obnoxious and intolerant of other pairings is beyond me. Lol poor Percy, having to settle for Annabeth for lack of better options XD Tbh, I've never been a huge fan of Annabeth. She's always had this bitchy side I didn't like much :/

Any pairing would be awkward with Ralph.
Anyway I read the explanation and I have to say, it really clears things up now. Flynn does seem to have the maturity that Elsa would need, unlike Jack Frost, that would make a relationship with her flourish. I have to say that now I do ship it a bit, though not to the extent of which I ship Icebreaker.

Yeah, Nerdy!Hiccup and Naive!Anna wouldn't be a bad combination in my mind. Have you heard of Merricup? Sometimes I feel like they just replaced Astrid with an exact copy (only one with red hair). I don't really see the difference in those two, do you? I think the first canon ship I started to really like was Helga/Arnold (Hey Arnold).

It's weird but I find Isabelle Fuhrman's face shape wrong. I think if I had to choose someone for Bianca it would probably be Shay Mitchell or Shailene Woodley.
Annabeth was probably my least favorite character out of the series. I don't know why, but I've just never liked her. She does have this...mean girl side, and she seems a bit stereotypical to me. But what do I know?

Given what I know about the movie, I don't doubt that X3
Yeah, I didn't even fully ship it myself (mainly got into it for the sake of having an alternate ship for Eugene besides Eupunzel) until I read that, and that convinced me But they really do have a lot in common, but they have differences in personality too, which makes it interesting. Like Jack and Rapunzel <3

Ikr! They're both awkward outcasts in their own ways, and I can easily see them finding comfort in each other. And true that about Mericcup! She's exactly like Astrid, but the Mericcup is more popular because it's a crossover. I can tolerate Mericcup since it gets paired with Jackunzel constantly, but I don't ship it. I mean, I feel like the whole point of Brave was to establish that Merida didn't NEED a man, and Merricup just throws that right out the window. Not that I think she shouldn't be shipped with anyone, but I think it would be a lot harder for her to fall in love than most of the fanfictions make it seem -______-

Oh yeah, they would make sense! Shay Mitchell definitely has the right skin tone. But Bianca is really hard to find an actor for, for some reason :/
Yeah, mine too I think. She DID seem stereotypical, didn't she? She was basically every rom-com love interest ever...pretty tough girl who hates the hero at first for no apparent reason. And she was also a total bitch to Rachel in Battle of the Labyrinth, but of course none of the Percabeth fans gave a crap X( And ugh, her NAME. Maybe that's a stupid reason not to like her, but it's just so...Mary-Sueish. Here, let's take 2 girls' names and randomly smash them together just so we can have an overly pretty girl's name! I was actually really surprised when I found out Annabeth is a real name because for the longest time I thought Rick made it up :/

Agreed. I sorta find it funny how people can ship, for example, Merricup yet say that Jackunzel is insufficient. I mean, how is marriage any different from a regular relationship? Divorce is pretty much the same th ing as a break up, right? Hiccup is in a relationship with Astrid but does that stop people? No!
Sorry for my rant I.U.   I just had to let it out some-way.

I understand perfectly. I honestly think that Merida wouldn't mind having a man as long as she would have a say in their relationship. She just seems like the type of person who doesn't like to depend on anyone. Overall Merida and Astrid are alike when it comes to romance. Perhaps that's why they subconsciously ship it?

Probably because Bianca has so many extras when it comes to characteristics; Rick described her in a really specific way.

That stereotype is definitely overused. Lol, I kind of find all names beginning with Anna weird. Annabeth, Annabelle, Annasue, Annamae, ect. So is Annabeth one of your shipping pet peeves?

Ugh, I know. It pisses me off when people can't fathom that crossovers HAVE to take place in some sort of AU, and any AU can invalidate canon if the creator of the AU wants it to. But even in the canon universe, Rapunzel and Eugene could still get a divorce. Marriage isn't a be-all end-all type of thing. Besides, Hiccup and Astrid are as good as married. They've been in a relationship for 5 years, and when Astrid won the dragon race at the beginning of HTTYD2, Stoic yelled, "That's my future daughter-in-law!" I don't think they're gonna break up anytime soon.
Completely understandable, I can't help but rant about some things too And some shippers...

Yep, definitely. Merida is a strong independent woman who don't need no man! But if Astrid can fall for someone, maybe Merida can too. But if Astrid and Merida ever fought over Hiccup...I wonder who'd win? XD

Yeah, she was WAY too detailed a character to die off so soon! Yep, most names beginning with Anna are annoying and excessive. Lol I didn't know a person could be a shipping pet peeve XD I mean, I kinda ship her with Grover, but no one else

Ranting is a wonderful way to connect with people over things that bother you. Free the rant!

I think Astrid because Merida doesn't seem like the type to fight over a man.

I thought I was the only one.   I love Annabeth and Grover together! Or, at least, it's the only ship I can stand that includes Annabeth and Grover.
