Of course! Groups are places where you can submit your art to people with similar interests. If you do adopts. for example, you find a group that sells adopts, probably many, and submit your adopt to as many groups as you can. Each group that you submit your work to puts out a message to everyone else in that group which contains all the new pieces that have been submitted. That means, everyone in any group you submit something to could potentially see your work. It doesn't guarantee that you'll get followers, but it does make it so that the people who would follow you have a higher chance of seeing your stuff and hitting that watch button.
