Woop woop! Guess who's finally joined you on dA, it's your Expo & manga-brainstorming friend

Had a brilliant time away in Norwich, thanks for arranging all that. Now we can push on practising our art, bring on 2012!

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

ArtistUnknown25 In reply to Khaotic-Dreamer [2012-01-08 13:29:55 +0000 UTC]

Yay! your on here at last!!! Love your avatar and deviant name

Norwich was totally I had the best time ever, I saw the pics you put up on facebook, I wish we could do it all again!

Speaking of the manga... I have two character sketches ready to be inked and placed on here took me two days but I think they really capture what we are looking for. I'm not gonna tell you which characters... I'll let you guess when you see them - feedback is needed.

Also I wanna put you in charge of the 'Down Time' extra stories... I have NO IDEA apart from the party (xmas or birthday... can't remember which one now). The bio's are STILL taking forever to write.... Nate almost has a complete one plus a little funny scene with Kayla. When they are done I'll send them along as they might help with ideas.

Can't wait to see some of the art you put up - you have to finish that page you did for the manga school 2012 is gonna be awesome!

No problem

I love the custom shoes... do you use pens like sharpies or something else to colour with? Do you have to coat the shoes with anything before and/or after you colour them?

Sorry for the questions but its something that I would love to try

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Some-Imagination In reply to ArtistUnknown25 [2011-10-18 19:30:28 +0000 UTC]

It's a secret! I spent a whole summer trying to figure out the answers to those questions so I'm a little apprehensive about giving people the answers. I will give you some tips, though!

I use markers for all of my shoes because they allow for greater detail than paint, and you don't have to prime the canvas of the shoes before you start drawing. They also dry almost instantaneously, so I can get finished with the shoes quicker, which is important if you're impatient like me What I'd recommend is going to the art store and buying red markers from a variety of different brands that you think might work. Remember, expensive isn't always better! Next, draw with each marker on a piece of scrap canvas (don't forget to label which one's which!) Let them dry, and then run it under water. The one that bleeds the least is your best bet. The reason you should choose red is because it tends to be the most bleed-y color out of all of them, no matter what the brand. Usually the brand with the least bleed-y red will also have the least bleed-y other colors, but I like to test each new color I buy before using them on the shoe.

In order to get the colors to stay, it is imperative that you heat set them by putting them in the dryer or blasting them with a hair dryer. After you do this, you can apply your sealant, which is another thing you should test with the scrap-canvas-and-water trick. I like to heat set the shoes after I've drawn the outlines and after I've filled in the color.

I hope these help! Sorry I can't give you the answers, but this should point you in the right direction.

p.s - random thought but just bare with me lol.

In your pic are you wearing a Trivium shirt? I still haven't seen them live but they are so cool

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

AkaBruce In reply to ArtistUnknown25 [2011-04-22 15:51:43 +0000 UTC]

yup it sure is i saw them a few years ago they were at the black crusade along with machine head and dragon force and a few others it's actually the offical trivium / black crusade tour shirt i'm wearing in the pic, it has all the tour dates on the back

i go to a shit load of gigs and stuff with my mates, we're hiting download again this year (third time in a row wooooo!)

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

ArtistUnknown25 In reply to AkaBruce [2011-04-23 11:34:57 +0000 UTC]

I think that was the tour that came to my town - couldn't believe it when I saw the ads. My little town rocked for one night lol.

Download this year is looking good - I would love to see Rob Zombie live. Dragonforce are a good band, saw them while I was at uni. What was the last gig you went to? I think the Deftones were my last gig.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

AkaBruce In reply to ArtistUnknown25 [2011-04-24 00:56:12 +0000 UTC]

it was a pretty awesome show ummmm the last gig i went to.... hmmmm well actually i just got back from one it was a covers band called fused, they did covers of stuff like red hot chilli peppers, foo fighters, green day, killers and kings of leon and stuff like that (basically like radio friendly pop rock stuff ) they were pretty damn good actually

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

ArtistUnknown25 In reply to AkaBruce [2011-04-24 09:54:10 +0000 UTC]

Its surprising isn't it. When a mate of mine was at uni in London we went to see a cover band - they did the songs justice I think.

So, what other bands you into?

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

AkaBruce In reply to ArtistUnknown25 [2011-04-24 22:48:52 +0000 UTC]

i've lost count how many bands i've seen live and errrm i'm into so much it would be close to impossible to name them all... it would be easier to tell you what i don't like i'm not a fan of hip hop and r&b stuff... some earlier stuff is ok and i'm not really into dance music but if i'm out in a nightclub or whatever i can put up with it but really i'm into pretty much a little of anything and everything lol

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

ArtistUnknown25 In reply to AkaBruce [2011-04-26 08:28:23 +0000 UTC]

I'm like you when it comes to R&B, I can just about put up with it if I'm in a nightclub. I'm more of a punk rocker at heart but I can just about out up with chart music and most other stuff played in the clubs lol.
Do you go to any Expo's?

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

AkaBruce In reply to ArtistUnknown25 [2011-04-26 18:01:59 +0000 UTC]

i'd love to go to expo's but none of my mates are really into it so i've never been as i didn't really wanna go on my own

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

ArtistUnknown25 In reply to AkaBruce [2011-04-27 16:36:23 +0000 UTC]

Awwww, that sucks

Did you know there's one at the end of May - the MCM Expo at the London Excel centre.
www.londonexpo.com = link to the website.

Just a thought but if you were interested you could come along with me and my mates... I know its a bit out of the blue but like I said, just a thought lol.

What do your mates think of Anime and Manga? Is it that they like it but wouldn't go to an expo sort of thing?

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

AkaBruce In reply to ArtistUnknown25 [2011-04-27 17:09:50 +0000 UTC]

hehe yeah it would be a little bit strange to go with someone i've never even met before also my birthday is on the 19th of may and the 2 weekends after my birthday i have plans so i think i'm gonna busy anyway

hehe well a couple of my mates have a casual interest in some anime like the movie akira or occasionally watch bleach or something but none of them are into it enough to wanna go to an expo or anything hehe i'm the only hardcore anime geek of our group

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

ArtistUnknown25 In reply to AkaBruce [2011-04-28 06:54:07 +0000 UTC]

Sorry bout that, old habits die hard - sometimes I think things that sound good on paper but by the time I rethink them my mouth (or hands) has already said (typed) it lol. Don't worry though, apart from being a total anime and manga freak I'm actually a normal, cool, rockin' kinda gal

I know that feeling, the housemates I lived with in the second year of uni were into Hollyoaks and all that stuff - while they watch that in the living room me and my mate would be watching Naruto episodes in another room. Anytime me and her started a anime/manga related convo they zone out or roll their eyes - thats why I like expos, you can have those convos and no one will judge you for it lol.

Looking forward to your birthday?

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

AkaBruce In reply to ArtistUnknown25 [2011-04-28 23:15:07 +0000 UTC]

haha it's ok i'm the same way

I wish more of my mates were into anime... i lent my Cowboy Bebop dvds to my mate Stephen the other day as he's into Scifi stuff and he loves firefly and that show has a pretty similar premise so i thought he might like it..... i don't think he's watched any of it yet tho =/

yeah i guess i'm looking forward to it i'm more looking forward to going out with my friends the weekends after my birthday than my birthday itself i've already had my birthday gift from my parents... they bought my download ticket this year WOOOOOO

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

ArtistUnknown25 In reply to AkaBruce [2011-04-29 13:46:33 +0000 UTC]

Nice! Download ticket is the best present anyone could give Who are you most looking forward to seeing?

Totally agree, birthday celebrations with friends is the best part of any birthday... as long as the videos and pics afterwards aren't too cringe worthy (I hate when they appear on facebook sometimes). Ever had pics that friends can use as blackmail material? trust me, you don't want them lol.

Cowboy Bebop! I haven't seen that in years! still haven't seen the movie either... is it any good? I haven't seen Firefly either, I think I was more into Stargate. You need to sit with him I think, make sure he watches it lol.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

AkaBruce In reply to ArtistUnknown25 [2011-04-29 16:45:56 +0000 UTC]

totally ummm it's a tough question really, the lineup isn't as good as last years but i really wanna see system of a down as i haven't seen them before and def leopard were loads of fun a couple of years ago so i wanna see them again too but really i'm just as happy checking out the smaller bands in the tents

as long as i have my friends and overpriced beer in my hand i'll be happy XD

umm the cowboy bebop movie isn't as good as the series but definately still worth watching and firefly is the series made by the guy that did buffy ^^

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

ArtistUnknown25 In reply to AkaBruce [2011-04-30 21:55:50 +0000 UTC]

Buffy... so 90's but still good - thank you syfy channel Joss Whendon is a genius.

System would be good live, so would Def Leppard - kinda jealous you've seen them. Avenged Sevenfold and the Pretty Reckless are on the list if I end up going. Download always leaves you with good memories... I remember going the first year the festival started and cooking bacon sandwiches as Iron Maiden played their encore, ahhh good times Are they still doing 20p for every cup that you bring back to the beer tents?

I will have to look up Cowboy Bebop again - can't believe the yanks want Keanu Reeves to play Spike :S

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

AkaBruce In reply to ArtistUnknown25 [2011-05-02 09:44:19 +0000 UTC]

haha i love buffy it's totally 90s lol i feel delightfully retro whenever i watch it

hehe system is definately gonna be the highlight of my weekend i wish i could have gone to the first download... i'm a massive maiden fan and i've only ever got to see them once when they did the somewhere back in time tour... me and my mates were lucky enough to score tickets before they sold out.... nearly Ā£60 a pop was a bit steep tho =/

haha yeah 20p a cup is still going... well it was the last 2 years anyway hahaha theres still kids that run around all weekend collecting towers of cups twice as tall as them

hahaha i'm pretty sure keanu playing spike is a hoax i'm pretty sure it's never gonna happen

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

ArtistUnknown25 In reply to AkaBruce [2011-05-04 08:23:52 +0000 UTC]

Damn, thats alot for an Iron Maiden gig - but they are totally worth it!

It kinda sucks that Rob Zombie headlines the same night as Linkin Park this year, i'm itching to hear LP's new stuff live :S Still can't believe the Darkness have reformed for Download too! Wow, the whole cup thing is crazy - just goes to show the lengths some people will go to to be able to afford a Download t-shirt lol.

I hope its a hoax too, and its been ages since there was mention of it. Akira was in the spotlight not long ago... that anime is a classic, it doesn't need a live action remake (especially if Zac Efron does get cast!!)

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

AkaBruce In reply to ArtistUnknown25 [2011-05-04 22:48:50 +0000 UTC]

agreed

well i'll be watching anyone other than linkin park as i'm really not a fan of their new material -.-* i saw them AGES ago when meteora first came out (when i still loved them) thats enough for me .... the darkness = earplugs ahhhhh well i don't think they actually give you the money for them anymore i think you just save money on your next beer or something... dunno i just gave all my cups to whichever kid had the most impressive sized cup tower

i'm 99.9999% sure it's just a hoax and if they allow production of an akira live action movie i may have to burst into the offices of whichever studio is responsible with a large bomb straped to my chest lol

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

ArtistUnknown25 In reply to AkaBruce [2011-05-07 11:34:58 +0000 UTC]

[link]
I laughed when I saw this in Empire magazine, we were talking about him for Cowboy Bebop now theres rumours he might take part in Akira. I guess he's a step up from Zac Efron :S

The Darkness just want the money, thats the only reason a band will reform these days. LP's new material reminds me of a watered-down chart version of Nine Inch Nails... I should probably be slapped for that remark lol.

Aaaawwww, aren't you a nice guy I would save the cups and use them to start a mass crowd cup war. When Metallica were an hour late to perform there was a massive cup/trash/bottle/whatever you could get your hands on fight - I remember taking a half drank can of beer to the boob... thanks Metallica XD

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

AkaBruce In reply to ArtistUnknown25 [2011-05-08 12:26:00 +0000 UTC]

i would love it if big american companies like this would just leave the classics alone we all know it's gonna suck ass before they even film the damn thing... the only live action anime movie i can think of that i actually liked was the death note movies at least they were done by a japanese studio... although they still changed too much for my liking

well system have only just reformed and i still have high hopes for them haha yeah such an insult to nine inch nails sorry i just have no love for LP anymore actually NIN aren't what they used to be either

haha yeah we saw cup wars gallore.... hey wow that rhymed but anyway we also saw ingenious uses for the cups too one guy managed to make himself look like a robot by pulling them appart and attaching them to his body he even had an empty carling box as a head lol and some other guy managed to make a starship enterprise out of cups! i mean i'm not a trekie at all but it's still impressive

haha i'm getting pretty excited about going i'm gonna do something stupid this year..... i'm shaving my head into a short mohawk and bleaching it then dying it turquoise.... so i'm gonna be running around with a turquoise mohawk all weekend i'll probably leave my hollow mask at home this year tho hmmmm maybe i'll take my naruto headband ....... yes! i'm an uber geek

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

ArtistUnknown25 In reply to AkaBruce [2011-05-10 10:39:58 +0000 UTC]

Yep, its a shame Hollywood has to resort to remakes - is there no one in that city that has an original idea anymore!?! If its ain't broke, don't fix it dammit... sorry, its one of my BIG pet peeves lol.
The Death Note films aren't too bad, the CGI for Ryuk could have been better.

NIN's highpoint was the Downward Spiral. I wouldn't mind hearing what Reznor did for the social network soundtrack. Not many do have love for LP anymore - Collision Course killed them for me, there was no need for it. It was nice to see them try something slightly different for A Thousands Suns, its actually helping me get over writer's block The chapters are just flowing now

Nice! turquoise mohawk... gotta see it once its done
Hey.. nothing wrong with being an uber geek. I might wear my Fullmetal Alchemist shirt when I go to Thorpe Park on Friday
I hope I can still go to Download, It feels like forever since I've been to a festival :S
I need to see who's going... a couple of my uni mates were taking about it but I have no idea if they have their tickets or not.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

AkaBruce In reply to ArtistUnknown25 [2011-05-11 07:49:03 +0000 UTC]

haha one of mine too

agreed about the downward spiral but i didn't mind the with teeth album either haha minutes to midnight is what killed LP.... nooooooooo it was that shit they did with JZ that did it... man that pissed me off -.-* hehe sorry i just like hybrid theory and meteora

yup turquoise haha i'm sure photos will end up on FB (whether i want them to or not ) and hey if you CAN go to download we can arrange a meeting and i'll buy you a beer
