Aww, yea I'm definitely feeling the same. School is a full time job! Well lately I've been working on my two character designs for my portfolio class. They're sort of like Egyptian, steam punk inspired so I'm having a lot of fun with them. But of course, they're stressing me out because I'm still trying to get the poses and expressions and stuff down.

Hopefully I can finish lol

ooh egyptian steampunk! i have an egyptian story but the architecture is too elaborate for me to draw in my current state of artiness. right now i'm trying to make character designs for a comic my professor is letting me do (one of the characters being the one you drew for me). it's super hard to draw people over and over and make them look the same every time. OTL also, my ideas go a million miles a second so just picking out one little bit to draw at a time is hell. hopefully i'll get something out soon, though. my plan is to do 3 pages in full detail for this next project and continue the story next semester because i'll be graduating and we're alowed to do whatever we want in our focus class to prepare for our senior show. 

other classes have been stressing me out, though. like biology. i mean, don't get me wrong, bio is cool... i just dont have the patience for it right now... also learning all the super tiny detailed stuff with big words is exhausting and pretty boring. 

so what's your egyptian/steampunk thing gonna be about?

Yea! I've been wanted to do something Egyptian for a while, but I didn't want it to be such a common and generic idea ya know? So that's why I added the steam punk element to it. I haven't really figured out the whole story yet, but I'm working on it lol So far, I only have that she's part of a colony that's been taken over and controlled by a bigger colony who's trying to take it for its resources and whatnot (nothing extremely interesting) lol But I'll figure something out. That's awesome though! It's cool that you're getting to include your character in the comic. But yea I know what you mean, drawing the same character over and over again can get really monotonous and keeping them on model is always the difficult part, I struggle with that too. You can do it though!!! I BELIEVE IN YOU!! lol It sounds like a lot of work thought, but of course that's the story of our lives lol. But yea that's how it is for us too, we get to focus on what our major is and pretty much do what ever we want.

I feel your pain though, I have a 3D class with my portfolio classes and its KILLING me because I know that the time I spend on those 3D projects I could be dedicating it to my focus work.

well it sounds like a very good start! 

and yeah. so much work. i've gotten to the point where the only things i do are completely not what i'm supposed to be doing at all. yesterday and today, i spent a bunch of time doing work for cons when i should be doing work for school! 

also, i have this sound project due soon and i have no idea what to do with it.... i have no idea how ot run a sound program! a bunch of video tutorials aren't going to help! i really just need ot get in there and screw around with it, i guess.

At least you're getting to do other things opposed to school work though XD (and making money from it as well) I've given on that for the moment and have dedicated all of my time to trying to pass my final review next week lol 

Oh trust me I feel your pain, I HATE having to spend time on projects for things I know I'm probably never going to do again, I'd rather spend that time on the work I know I need to focus on *shrugs* lol I have a 3D animation including dialogue due tomorrow too so I feel your pain lol UGHHHHHHHHHHHH

yeah i shouldn't be working on anything else at all. i have soooo much schoolwork to do. i really can't wait until this semester is over. i'm taking two winter classes so i can take some stress off of next semester when i'll be preparing for graduation and my senior show. 

i finally have a group for my senior show, though! there has to be five of us and it's hard to pick because we (myself and Mandy, my first group-mate) wanted someone skilled and talented with a mellow personality that wont argue with us too much. the two are hard to find, especially in one place. most of the art majors at frostburg aren't that good and most of them are nuts. drama. everywhere. anyway, we found three guys to work with but only two are confirmed. the last one we need to get approved with one of the two confirmed guys, then we need to ask him if he'll join us and hope for a positive response.

Hey girl!! I am SOOOOO sorry that I haven't gotten back to your message yet. I've been so busy with finals and review and whatnot. But I've done it! I've taken my final review and as nerve wrecking as it was, I'm hoping and praying that I pass because I really need to graduate lol Now I only have to sit back and wait for the next two weeks.

But yea sometimes its best to just push other things aside and focus on school (as unfortunate as that sounds).

Well good! At least you've found someone who you know you can be compatible with when it comes to working and getting things done. Hopefully as dedicated as the guys seem to be, they turn out just as awesome and do everything they're supposed to do, fingers crossed lol Working in a team can be such a pain sometimes.

they went pretty well i think. i passed bio with a 65, got an A in african and mesoamerican art history, digital imaging, math, and advanced illustration. so four A's and a D. 

what have you been doing during the break? i should have been preparing for magfest but i mostly rested until tonight. i'll be doing some work starting soon.

I've pretty much just been relaxing, though I HAVE had a few commissions that i've been working on. I'm working on a big one right now that I have to have finished within the week so I'm sort of stressin' about it but its a fun one so its not too bad. Yea I totally forgot about magfest I didn't get the tickets yet, I'll probably get the tickets at the door though. Hey! Since you're going and I might be going, here's my number. it's a bummer we didn't get to see each other at magfest! maybe next time. i got a lot of commissions i'll need to get going on soon. i've been trying to catch up with other obligations and schoolwork for my intersession courses since magfest. i missed about 4 days of homework in one of my classes because they started on magfest. i should be good now, though.

I know!! I'm sorry As a matter of fact, I went on Sunday as a super last minute decision. My friend had an extra badge, but I was there for LITERALLY like 20 minutes or less (because unfortunately I couldn't find my wallet and was freaking out so I decided to leave and go find it lol ((i ended up finding it at home)) I was going to text you but since I had to leave I knew it wouldn't have made sense to anyways.  

But that's awesome! YAY for commissions! I'm sure you'll do great with them. And that's good at least you're all caught up now. Right now for me, I only have 2 commissions for the same guy. He wants two 5-point turnarounds of these two characters of his, he's the president/ceo of Origo Games. ^__^ So I'm having lots of fun with those. But that's it for now. I know I could have more but its enough for my plate right now since I'm in the process of moving as well

Yea trust me I don't usually get much either. The only real way I get commissions is from the conventions and friends of friends. lol But I was actually moving in with my boyfriend in Bristow, VA, but unfortunately I dont think that'll be happening anymore, so as of right now I'm kinda just floating around :/

BTW, sorry for such a late reply. I've been so busy with trying to graduate, and getting my portfolio together and LIFE in general, and on top of that I haven't really been getting on DeviantArt as much.

Yea, unfortunately him and I aren't doing too great right now and its actually pretty hard to deal with because our relationship of 8 years is proving to turn out to nothing :/ But I'll get over it.
