Shepard's not afraid of Garrus per se.. but more of a truth of sorts. A confrontation with Garrus is a confrontation of said truth....I can't say anymore or it'll ruin the story.

Because you commented on her early-release of Sense and Flexibility, I saw the link to your own take on the Shepard/Garrus romance. It's very well-written and interesting. Once the ME3 DLC comes out to clear up the endings, I'll probably start my own fan fic that will pick up at the end of the trilogy, so not until sometime this summer. I'm already writing it in my head, though. Hopefully, I won't have to change too much once that DLC comes out. ^_^

Definitely. Must have babies. Garrus even mentions it in ME3! But before I post what I want to post, have you finished ME3? I wouldn't want to spoiler you. I know you said you were only halfway through ME2, but was that just the fanfic or your actual game progress?

Oh, good. Didn't want to spoiler you, although I spoilered myself intentionally to ease the blow the endings would have when I experienced them for real. I wrote an atrociously long comment on Lordess-Alicia's journal page that fueled my need to create an eventually happy end. Here's the part I posted regarding turian-human babies, a summary of what should happen after the destroy ending:
Shepard wakes up in a bombed-out hospital being tended to by Miranda Lawson, Mordin's favorite nephew, and a female turian obstetrician. That's right, I said obstetrician. Shepard was pinned by debris from the Citadel explosion that kept her from burning up during reentry. Her left arm was incinerated down to the bone because of its proximity to the super-heated metals that pinned her. She suffered multiple right-leg and foot fractures, a broken collarbone and a concussion. She wakes, whole, three weeks later, the flesh of her arm re-grown by the talented Ms. Lawson. Given the news of the Normandy's disappearance and her impending miracle baby, Shepard decides to finally do something for herself. She leaves Earth in the capable hands of Major Coates and other Alliance heroes, and sets off to find the people she had been fighting for to begin with.
The Geth, grateful for her part in granting them consciousness, offer their assistance, and begin rapidly fitting a geth ship with stasis chambers for Shepard, two of her doctors, and a few old friends. The search for the Normandy crew begins.
That's about where it will start.

After ME 3, my story will focus of Garrus for a couple of chapters, him mourning the loss of Shepard. Little does he know....she survived. When Garrus finally finds her, she's in a hospital recovering. As Garrus is sitting by her side, the doctor comes in to inform Shepard that the lab results came back and all her levels are good...just one thing they found.....hee hee hee...SURPRISE! Yeah, that's how I have it planned in my head. That's just the rough draft idea in my head.

Cool, so you have Garrus still on Earth, then? I'm trying not to change too much of the current in-game ending, so Garrus and Tali's unconscious bodies were picked up by Alliance shuttles that were called away before an adequate search of the site could be performed (my explanation for why they didn't pick up Shepard and Anderson). Garrus and Tali end up on the Normandy, still unconscious. I'm still coming up with a logical reason for Joker taking off through the relay, but hopefully that will be explained in the DLC, and I can stop wracking my brain. If not, maybe I'll have Hackett ordering Sword to retreat from Earth when the Crucible begins firing.
Garrus and the crew spend the next two years on that unknown garden world shown in the final cut-scene. Unfortunately, there are no dextro food sources and dangerous predators everywhere. Some of the challenges include salvaging the Normandy to create adequate dextro food-synthesizing equipment, severely rationing what remains, retrofitting power sources to accommodate the needs of the crew, and dealing with the loss of Shepard. I have Garrus never believing she is dead, refusing to give up on her despite his tendency to expect the worst in every situation. The rest of the crew try to help him move on, but he stubbornly refuses, causing serious strain on his friendship with Tali, who is struggling with her own latent feelings for Garrus.
Meanwhile, Shepard and a small crew are in stasis on a geth ship, utilizing an upgraded FTL drive to reach the Normandy's beacon. When she finds her crew, she's technically only about two months pregnant, though over two years have passed for the crew. I plan to have a few jokes made about the predictable amount of time required for her to come back from the dead.
I love that I have this kind of outline in my head already. That so rarely happens when I'm writing. Anyway, sorry for the long reply. It seems long replies are sort of my thing. ^_^

Oooh..I like your little drama that is planned between Garrus and Tali.
I have no idea if Garrus is on Earth or not....it really depends on what the DLC clarifies. Depending on where they are and what type of travel they have available....I don't really know.
How I proceed will really depend on the DLC content.
