James sat perfectly still in a tree, hiding from François. He knew that if he hid for more than half an hour, the Frenchman would give up. His 'papa' didn't care much about him, or anything. The young Canadian didn't move a muscle when he heard something behind him, tired purple eyes blinking slowly. He had good reflexes. He wouldn't get knocked out

Alfred emitted a soft grunt as the tree bark scraped roughly against his small hands whilst he hauled himself up one branch at a time. He had seen the other in the tree and in his curiosity had decided to attempt sneaking up on him. This of course was going rather poorly as the child emitted a soft curse at all the noise he was making when jostling the branches, crimson orbs flashing briefly in his minor frustrations that his little sneak attack wasn't going as planned. When he got close enough and somewhat behind James, having climbed from the opposite side of the tree, there was no point in trying to surprise the other.

James had listened with curiousity, and now grabbed the kid without looking, flipping him over and standing so he was dangling Alfred over a long drop from his feet. "...Who're you, I don't know you. Did François send you?"

The boy emitted a rather high pitched sound that could only be described as a squeak, "H-Hey!" he shouted as his vision became fairly altered by his position. Locks of dark red hair, just barely tinted with brown, obscured some of his vision as he attempted to get a good look at the other, "Put me down!" he demanded heatedly, appearing frustrated by the way his attempt at some fun had gone sour. Just who did this guy think he was?

"Scwew you!" the child shouted, further frustrated by the other's response.  His flailing and attempts to free himself were no replaced by attempts to hit the other, smacking wherever he could get his small hands. He didn't care if this 'Francois' person heard him, not putting two and two together as of yet once he'd heard the name.

(( Lol, yeah...He has quite a bit of trouble pronouncing his R's and a little with L's. ))

"None!" Alfred was beginning to get just a touch lightheaded as well as infuriated with how things were going. Oh, his older brother would just be steamed if he returned home with a nightie filled with holes again, which would undoubtedly occur if he was dropped, "I'm a cowony!" This was followed by the child attempting once more to smack at the Canadian, not carrying at this point if he fell. Chances were that he could most likely grab onto a branch before plummeting.

"I don't cawe who you wike..." The child huffed once he was righted, crossing his legs on the branch as he started the usual task of removing twigs and bits of leaves from his hair, "I'm Engwands..." He stated, aiming a small glare at the Canadian as he flicked one of the twigs he'd pulled from his hair in the general direction of the other.

"I could ask you the same thing..." Alfred huffed, leaning forward a little bit to squint at the other, hands placed in front of him on the branch.

The boy blinked slowly, as if just realizing that. Of course some part of him had known that he'd left his own territory the moment he'd set foot on Canadian soil; he had just not expected to run into the area's personification. With a small huff, the boy attempted to not become intimidated by the other's rather unsettling eyes, his own a nearly sparking crimson, filled with mischievous and almost malevolent energy. Quite the opposite when compared to the other's. Straightening up a little, Alfred attempted a small glare, "That doesn' matter to me..." he stated, almost giving a small nod to himself, agreeing with his own words, "Awe you always such a gwump...?"
