Meet Good Time Charlie, a recently escaped candy imp from the Nightosphere .
After being drawn from the Nightosphere by a certain peppermint's excessive use of the dark arts, he was chased from the Candy Kingdom for causing too much mischief around town. He was warned that if he ever returned to the Candy Kingdom, he'd be sent back from where he came, his worst nightmare.
He's a demon of chaos and gluttony, though he rarely admits it. He's mostly harmless, just stealing candy from babes and pies off window sills. An undying sweet tooth and an endless stomach makes him easy to appeal to though, and he's known for making deals with evil people with worse intentions for very little in return.
You'll likely find him twirling his lollipop tail and tipping his hat all around the roaming hills of Ooo, always looking for a good time.

Your lines are better than mine! I did it with mouse for a while but now it is mostly tablet, kinda miss the feeling of a real pencil but I don't like killing trees ;-;

Sometimes, I see people do the line work from one person and another colors, is that how it's usually done?

Well there are a few different ways to do a collab, though the one you mentioned is probably best for us since they will likely be making contact. Other way is someone does sketch the other lines and one colors and the other does background. Then there each does half with their character and then combines the two pictures. Then there is someone starts it and other finishes.

I actually don't know how to line though, my sketch lines are the lineart, just a bit cleaned up.

Yeah I have sketchy lines myself, horribly sketchy, I try to clean them but I just kinda don't like the look of my style with clean lines.But if you don't mind it I could draw and you can color unless you prefer the ladder.

Oh~ I do wonder how Charlie would look in a more realistic style, probably even stranger than he does now, but I think I'd have an easier time coloring your cartoon style, sense I color with color blocking.

Alright hun, I'll probably get it done in anywhere from a day to Monday, I'm just so eager to do this x3 And I now have a solid idea for it that mixes our ideas together while adding possibly a little more. I just hope no one will mistake it for a ship picture haha

Drawing Charlie in my style without him looking completely creepy is hard but I think I managed to keep him cute.
Sai decided to close out right when I got my sketch for anatomy done and I had to start over ;-; I got Charlie's head lined so far though I need to fix some things since while looking at it this morning it looked a little weird but at least cute unlike the first time I drew his face xD

I'm not going to lie, I had to slightly girl his features to make him cuter but he is still a little creepy. Just shows how much she likes his personality pffft Creepy usually keeps her far away.
Charlie is like the only character I keep completely cartoony in my mine when visualizing so seeing him my style has made me a little o.o Lol
Well I would probably have finished it already but had to go to a job orientation, I start Tuesday ah ;-; So nervous cause I'll be working with complete strangers >.<

Yeaahhh Charlie, he is a strange creature, he was definitely not made with actual anatomy in mind, and you can always tell when a character isn't, haha.
He's extremely idealized and cartoony ah~ ;v; Some of it's my art style though, I admit.
But don't worry about getting it finished fast! Take your time, and goodluck with the job!

Believe me if I was making him realistic and not aiming for cute, he would be hella scary and probably old looking cause now that I am picturing him on a realistic level he would have more wrinkles and almost gargoyle like features. Maybe one day I'll draw him as I truly precieve him but for now I'll try to keep him cute xD

When I made him, I imagined him with exaggerated features and bubblegum-like skin, just a bit too reflective and definitely not human skin. Actually, I think what would make him creepy is that he's actually missing a lot of human features, he's too smooth, he's too doll-like. But I really don't know, I sincerely did not think about it until now, haha x)

But my lines are so sketchy compared to everyone else on this site, it seems to have become part of my style digitally.

You're lines are thin, and transparent in some places, but really they're not that sketchy! They have no extra or unnecessary lines sprouting from them, like mine. Mine are like that because I literally use a tool that does that on purpose in order to steady my lines a bit. if you look at the corners of small areas, you can see these thick, slightly transparent extra lines. Though your lines might have it sometimes, it's not really seen as accidental like mine because the line looks natural, like oil paint lines. Mine, haha, they're very thick so... it's more clear that those aren't meant to be there. my art style is going in the direction of clean, cartoon black lines, the lines are meant to be visible. So when they're thick like finished lines but look unrefined it becomes more obvious.
You're line work is fine thoughhh~! And the drawing you did for me to color is absolutely fantastic, very cute! I'm going to do nothing but work on it today. UvU

I do like a sketchy scooting way of drawing, like when you are trying to paint a darker line with water colors and you repeatly go over the same spot to make sure it is there. Plus I do 80% opacity on my brush at a 1 or 2 pixel thickness, rare occasion bigger for more cartoony effect...so that is probably why my lines at points are noneexistant. I wanted to be a realistic artist but my style is going down hill, mainly in the faces. I used to do more realistic eyes and now they are taking an anime like turn. It is discurouging.

Ah you know, realism is the very most difficult style to learn, it's ridiculously strict and very easy to mess up. Maybe you're changing the eyes because of the kind of characters you're drawing? Whenever I find myself shifting styles it's usually because the other style has something mine doesn't, maybe you find the anime eyes more expressive?

Yay I can't wait to see. I was thinking of a floral pattern on the seat or regular flowers hanging off the sides but I didn't want to make it seem any more romantic than it already does xD
I actually hate anime artwork hehe eh OTL But I like reading them. I think it may be influenced from seeing other art all the time plus a different computer.

Yeah, haha, and there's that. You could just be picking up on what you see the most, and strictly portrait-style realistic is rare on DA by fantasy artist that aren't themed or have some sort of anime or comic book influence to beautify the face.
Oh but for the seat, I can draw flowers pretty well, or at least I like to think I can, maybe I can do a more friendly flower than a rose or something, like sunflowers or poppies.
And thanks for the floral print idea because when I woke up this morning I had no idea how I was gonna decorate that bench!

Very true though I do watch a lot of realistic artist on my main account just not on it as much as these ask accounts.
I can only draw flowers well traditionally, my hand isn't stable enough digitally to do decent ones OTL Though Daisy my living stuffed bunny character has little daisies stitched in her ears I just quick draw xD
Hmmm when I do something like that, I usually look up flower and color meanings though I may be the only one to understands why they are there, it makes me feel more proud for some reason pffft
