After a few minutes, the door opened. There stood Alaska, though she didn't quite look like herself. She had her hair tied into pigtails, and she was wearing a black t-shirt with some jeans. Her frown was odd, because she didn't frown a lot. Anybody could tell something was wrong.

"I said I'm fine..." Just then, her polar bear Aurora walked up to China and shook her head. Aurora knew that Alaska was lying. And Alaska was even scratching her wrists behind her back, the sign that she was lying.

At first he was surprised he got any reaction but hugged her back. He wasn't sure why she was so sad but he knew that he had to be there to comfort her.

He gently began to massage her back, other than hugging this was one of he ways he knew of how to calm a person down.

His words puzzled Alaska, she couldn't really think of anything but those words. Smile a little more naturally they haunted her. She wondered if he could tell her smile was fake or not. She definitely thought it was a mistake, but she couldn't help but wonder as her day went on. Could he have...? Or was he assuming? That question was something she had decided was better left unanswered.
