Hehehehe... I am so sorry that it has taken me so long to reply to you.
All the usual excuses are included... 1) depression. 2) workload. 3) holidays 4) depression. 5) Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert's shows moving to the 2200hrs slot and then moving back to 2300hrs. 6) Jupiter's rising. 7) Nothing is rising. 8) depression 9) The Moon still rises and finally 10) that big shiny ball thing still comes up and burns me every day despite whoever I vote or pray for!
I promise I will start to do something β actually I have started, take a look!

Hi Phil, I'm just about hanging in there. There's a Norovirus outbreak at the retirement home at which I am the Night Charge Nurse... so we are in isolation/lockdown and the shit is literally hitting the fan at the moment. I'm on my 5th night in a row tonight - so I'm feeling pretty stretched.
Fortunately it's my last shift until next Friday so I'll get more time to reply to you by Tuesday.
I was born in Ontario, Canada but when I was six years old my parents went back to the UK. They were Welsh but brought me up in another small village just outside Maidstone in Kent.
I lived there until I was 18 and went into nurse training. After that I moved around the South of England quite a lot - mostly London. Then I went to work and live in Germany, France, Spain, Bermuda and then eventually came back to Ontario to near the place I was born.
Glad you liked the picture, it was done in GIMP - too rapidly. It didn't quite turn out as good as I wanted it to, mainly because I rushed it and picked the wrong photo to start with... because you are absolutely right - even Lennon doesn't look like Lennon in that particular one.
I might go back and take a little time to find a better photo to start with - I'm thinking 'Walls And Bridges' maybe...
Oh yes, I know of Leeds and Manchester. Canadians are totally immersed in Coronation Street!
We get it 8 months behind its original transmission times in the UK... but it doesn't upset the Canuks!

Whoops, I didn't realise that I actually did disable prints from my stuff (please don't call it art - I'm just a mediocre meddler not an artist...)
All I do when a save one of my doodles is go to the license option and select the default option... I never realised that turned off the print option. Never mind... I save my pics at such a high resolution that if you want to print one out all you have to do is "copy" one directly from your browser, save it and then print it out...
I have no objection to that, in fact I take it as an extreme compliment... all I'd ask in return is that if you re-use one of them then at least you give me a passing nod as to who it came from...
In fact, scrub that condition, just "deviantWatch" me and that would be compliment enough!

I have got some photo's I am going to put up just for you soon - when I get the courage up... It is stepping out of my comfort zone but they are photos of dolls....
NO... I do not play with dolls - in fact, like clowns, dentists and spiders - they freak me out... but I saw some dolls they put out at my place of work, thought of you and then took pictures of them.
You have got to understand that if/when I do put them up I am going to blame you and issue a disclaimer on my own behalf...
Save your money on the issue of Drawing Tablets. I wasted a lot of good bucks on a decent one - and indeed it is good - but the primary requirement is that you have to be able to draw. Neither you nor I have that ability - so it is a waste of money. What you and I DO have is an "eye" for the "interesting" and an ability to use a camera to translate the "interesting" into something that interests other people... that's an aspect of art.
People who can "draw" start with an idea or concept in their head and then translate that down onto paper (or digi-media.) People, like you and me, actually look at the world, see the art, get ideas and then take pictures of them (or pose them.)
Both mediums are legitimate "Art" - in fact Salvador Dali [link] was one of the earliest exponents of our art. He was fairly famous!
Stick with your photography for the moment my friend - you are blinking good, trust me - if you really want to try your hand at drawing then get a pencil, paper and a scanner. Do your sketches, scan them and then upload them... much cheaper and a lot easier than going the Drawing Tablet route

Haha, well truthfully, glass dolls and some barbies still freak out. BJD's on the other hand, are diffrent in my case. They are the chance to bring my characters to "life" and not just story wise, but through photography as well. They are completely customizable, their is very few things you can't do with them, and alot that you can.
I can't wait to see your photography of these dolls though, tell me when you put them up if you do.

That is true, but my issue is, I DO have very good ideas that form in my head, and as I writer, I write them (I am writing a book actually), but I would love to put some of them on paper as well..

Thoughs dolls where creepy though..glass dolls..-shiver-
BJD= Ball Joint Doll, which is what my Felina is. They are resin (and can be diffrent types of resin) and are not glass. They are jointed so unlike barbies and glass dolls, you can move/pose them in anyway you want, as they have most the same joint as humans (arms, knees, waist, hands, ect). Their fully costomizable and you can change out most parts on them to make the look anyways you want (like you can get them new heads, hands, ect). They are also anotimically correct, lol. Their alot more expensive then barbies and gladd dolls because each piece along with each joint of the doll has to be hand-made before cast in resin, and then painted on as well (if the buyer chooses). I heard they where originally made for fashion desingers to make mini versions of their clothes for saleing example, and then photographers saw them and thought they would made a good subject. This form of photography is called BJD photography usually.

He's not a wuss. Actually, his demon doll Bella is pretty well known in doll photograpy. My fiance, he thinks shes hot, lol: [link] [link] . Shes also a limited edition Beryl doll..and shes huge. One thing about BJDs is they can get very small to very very tall. My girl Felina is 44cm, this girl, Bella, is 70cm.

Actually, a friend sent me a BJD that was about as tall as a human, but it was the scary "american version" of BJDs..where they don't have a natural looking face and look like a anime character with HUGE eyes and a little mouth and crap, not the one I linked you too or mine, where the faces look..well..normal (even eyes and all).
