I'm so glad to hear from you again!
And its good that you are well. And thank you for the compliment as well. :]

At the moment, I'm back at school. There's a lot of work for me to do. So its hard to do drawings...
How about you? What have you been up to?

Yes, I still listen to ac/dc. They're always good to listen to. ^^

I have a lot of work to do too, but it's only drawings. I'm in an Art School but more a Cartoon/Illustration School.

So I have a lot of drawings I can post on Da, but I don't find the time to... Even if it's the summer holidays xD

I have an excuse, I'm working as a painter for the city I (was) living.

Are you always learning french ?

Personally I have no more english lessons, I understand what people are writting and what they're saying (when they don't have a strong accent xD) but writting and speaking it myself that's another kettle of fish xD (I just learn a new expression !)

I've always liked the way you draw, and I'm looking forward to seeing your drawings.
What kind of things do you paint?
It's the same for me though, I hardly ever draw these days. I'm just so busy!!

I'm not learning French anymore, but I still remember some. I learn Japanese now :]
I also want to learn Italian, and I'm trying to teach it to myself. Its easier for me to read/ hear italian. But I can't really speak it.
I know that it is similar to French ^^

I'm also taking art classes at school. But its called VCD (visual communication & design) where we design things like posters/ bridges. And sometimes we draw animals.

I don't paint interesting things, just repainting walls, planks or others things

nothing to do with drawing just paint x).

Too bad you stop learning french Japanese must be hard to learn !

I never try to learn Italian, and we say in France that Italian and Spanish,

are easy because it's french words with vowels (a,o,i) at the end ! xD

You don't post what you do in class ? Must be interesting.

simonerizio In reply to AtomiKSnaiL [2013-08-17 13:11:30 +0000 UTC]

Oh I understand.
Paiting walls

Yes, that's true. I think french, italian & spanish all have the masucline/feminine rule. le/la elle/il and that.
Japanese is only a hard at the start when you have to learn the all the characters. After that, its not too bad and the words are easy to say.
Japanese is easier than French or Italian.

No, I don't post what I do in class. I don't like my artworks that I have to do for the topics... but i'll be posting other stuff later on ^^
What do you think about English? Do you think its hard or easy to learn? And understand as a second language.
Also, learning French previously has helped me with Italian. Because the words are so similar that I can work out what they are!

Yea, it is sad that I had to give up French. I could have done both languages, but I would have been the only person in the school XDD It would have been too much work for me anyway. So I just do Japanese.
I think I can remember some french....

Good to know that Japanese isn't that hard, I wanted to learn it during a time but without lesson I'm not really assiduous. In my previous school we could learn Chinese but I think it was to much languages to learn in the same time English + German(or Spanish) + Chinese, but that what I think because I was not that good in English and in German that was worse...

About English that not especially hard to learn until you have learn some rules... Rules that I did not learn correctly that why now I write like a pig ! It's easy because you don't have the famous masculine/feminine rules everything is "it" xD and the only thing to know about verbs it's at the ending of he/she it's a "S"xD. Seriously I think it's relatively easy when you make the effort to learn where and when to use things like irregular verbs for example (know them by heart don't know when to use them correctly, I use them "by feelings"...). The hardest thing is the pronounciation( accent on syllable, some other are almost quiet, th, r, words that look the same on the paper but have a different pronounciation...) , you hear me speak you directly know that I'm french ! After all you have also words that look like french not as much as Italian/Spanish words I think xD.

I must make effort to learn english seriously ! I feel miserable when I tell you I don't know how to use irregular verbs correctly (by the way others little things easy as hell I would not confess to you but you must have seen in the differents messages I sent you xD). Writting to you make me want to learn English better xD

I can't wait to see new drawings from you !

Japanese isn't hard no. And for several reasons, I guess I've just been lucky enough to have teachers that are good at teaching Japanese. The words are easy to say, (all words generally have consenant+ vowel sound. for example, ka, ri, po, ga etc. Then there's vowels singulary a, i, u, e, o, which are used for stretching words, particles(conjuctions) and to put before a consenant. ((If that doesn't make sence, I can give you an example for each xD!))

So, since the japanese alphabet is only made up of sounds like po, ma, wa, ne, ka, etc all words are just different combinations of those. There's no special accents, and the sounds/vowels are read the same way for every word. Like in English (and many other languages) 'i" could be read many different ways. In Japanese, just one way :] So can never pronounce a word wrong!
Japanese is also harder in the way, like, you can't relate to it? Like, as an English speaker if I see a word in italian/french that i haven't learnt I can work it because it is similar to English. But in Japanese, the words aren't usually related. And I may not even be able to read the characters!!

You're lucky to have gone to a school that supplies so many different languages! At my school we only have the choice of french or japanese (and of course english), but other schools have many others. Spanish and German are bothe languages I want to learn! I really love languages XD I just want to learn so many... Greenlandic, Swedish, Arabic and Finnish are also insteresting languages. I probably wont be able to learn that many languages but I can hope! For now, I am just happy to learn Italian ;DD I learn Italian at home, most people in my family speak Italian and can help me. But I just learn from Italian books i have at home. However, since i have grown up in an Italian home for most of my life (Italian growing up in Australia) I have had the language and people around me always. So I already know quite a bit. I can read Italian fairly well. But I cannot speak it and I can't write much either.

Sometimes when I write in English, I get confused too. Even though it is my first language! Its not because I find English difficult, I just get confused! Yes, I also agree that is easy that most words end with S XD But not all words! There's a few like child=children, octopus=octopi, ox=oxen. Like I said, I make mistakes too. I often say things like octopuses or oxes XD!! I just never knew...

Also, since I have dropped French the people around me are constantly upset because it is extremely difficult! (Maybe I wont miss it as much now?XD)

You're English is good, but I'm glad to hear that I have inspired you to keep learning more!

Thanks, I have started working on stuff again! So you will see some stuff soon. Looking forward to yours too

I see a little what you are trying to explain to me, but can you still write me some examples please ? xD

Japanese seems so simple to learn when you speak about it, that almost give me the want to learn it xD. I have a friend in my school that have learn Japanese too, she has a correspondent in Japan so during the previous school year, she had past like 1 month in Japan at Okinawa if I remember well. If one day I start learning Japanese I can speak to her as a training x).

In France you normally start by learning some English, then English become obligatory and you have too choose obligatory too between Spanish and German, then the two languages follow you during all your school years if you follow the "normal" one, and then in your three last years before the Baccalauréat (final exam) it depends on the school you are going to, so sometimes you have Chinese like mine, or Italian or Greek or other languages. Plus you have the choice when you choose Spanish or German, to learn the Latin. I can't explain you that clearly I don't know the equivalent of the schools in France and the ones in Australia x)
So in short, the two last years of Primary School you start learning some English, then you learn English for the rest of your life in School, the two last years of the French Secondary School (year 9 and 10 in english if I understand well) you start Spanish or German at which you can add Latin. Then you start the last school so the three last years where you still learning English, German or Spanish, you can continu Latin but it's an option normally (because it's a dead language), and then you can, in some schools, add an other language if it propose it.

I find German hard to learn, with the Die/Das/Der and all that words you can't write because there is to much consonants that following each other xD I wish I have the courage you have to learn language, if I had it I may now speak a better German !

If you want to learn languages you can maybe make some Language studies, in special school, I have some friends that do that now... But I don't know what are your plans for later xD.

I forgot these famous words that not take a S at their end xD I know I have frequently say and write childs instead of children xD. Another thing I find easy in English is the conjugation compared to French. Maybe it is one of the reason why people find French difficult xD With all the grammar rules and others things, but I don't really know what you are doing when you learn French. So tell me how it was to learn French as an English speaker, like that I can have an idea of how it is !

Thanks I expected for your eyes to not bleed much when reading my messages xD ! And your sentences in French was good too

I'll put some stuff soon too I have some in reserve

In Japanese, there are 3 different scripts, or alphabets if you like. The first one that you learn is called hiragana, basic alphabet for Japanese words only. They represent all the 46 or so Japanese 'letters'. The second is Katakana which is used for non-Japanese words/ physical sounds (bang/pop/bounce etc.), and animal sounds. Katakana is the easiest to learn. The third script is called Kanji and comes from the Chinese language where you use symbols to represent the word. There are more than 3,000 Kanji characters, and almost no one knows all of them
So, for example. The Japanese word for 'sun' is にち (Nichi) Nichi in its character is 日 , which is meant to look like a sun. Which is kinda cool that the characters come from what they should be x).
Mixing characters together also makes new words, for example: ”Telephone” the characters are: 電話 (denwa) which includes the character electricity: 電 and the character speak: 話 Which makes sense, doesn't it!? Sometimes they are read differently when they are seperate.

In Australia, there is no demand to learn any other language in highschool. In most schools though, you have to learn 1 or 2 languages in primary school. I learnt French from year 3 and continued until year 8 ( I could have kept going with it until now, onwards but I didn't want to)  I also started French in year 7. So for 2 years I learnt 2 languages. We were forced too. And after that we had the option to do one, both or none. No body at the school does both. And there is no pressure to do 2. I chose Japanese. x)
Though, if there was more languages at my school I would have done more if I could - but I can still learn new ones in university, if I want to. (And I probably will). So by the end of school (and maybe university) and many languages would someone know in France?

I understand that English is one of the most popular languages in the world and it would certainly be useful to know it. So it makes sense that you would start so early at your school. Spanish, German and Latin seem like such good languages. I would love to learn those! D; And I know Latin is a dead language but its so interesting, and its easier to learn other languages once you know Latin....

I reckon German would be easy for me to learn because it is, apparently, so similar to English :') But in the way you have described it, maybe it sounds hard xD

Yeah, I've spoken to my parents about learning languages out of school. They said maybe, but I will have to make a decision on what language to learn!

I imagine that English would be hard for people to learn as a second language, because there are so many exceptions/rules... like I said, sometimes I even get it wrong xD

No, my eyes don't bleed when I read your English XD I can understand you perfectly. Your English is so good.
And yes, please show me what you know. And maybe I can show you some other things...

(Sorry it took me a while to reply, there was so much to say! And I was busy with school. Now I am on holidays )

Hey ! I'm really sorry for the time I take to answer ! I had a lot of work to do, it come by waves, and don't let you the time to breath between x).

You almost give me the envy to learn japanese xD !

German is a little like Japanese, some words are just some other words put together like telephone in japanese. (except in german telephone is Telefon xD). When I was learning German, people was saying that you can create any word because of that. If you really want to learn German I think it will be easy for you x) I think I had a lake of motivation to learn that language xD.

Here, you are forced to learn english and spanish/german, until the end of school just before university, then I think you have the choice to continu or not Spanish/german, but then you can choose to learn another language like Greek, Italian, Chinese, Russian or other. But you have no choice for english you have to continu xD. So I think when you come out of university you should as a french, know like 3 or 4 languages + french.

Yeah like you say english is useful to know, it's actually a kind of "universal" language, I mean almost everything is in english, and if it's not it will be first translate in english like some website, or you can see it on dA or other platform of communication, most of the time people speak in english to be understand by almost everybody. (What I do right now with you indeed xD.)

Choose German to learn out of school... or French (It's a good language trust me xD) ! Or you learn Latin like this you will learn more easily the other one ? But you have to find someone that teach Latin x)

Personnaly I have start learning English at home there's two month, because my school doesn't give english lesson, like this I can speak english with someone, because between writting and speaking there is the problem of the accent and pronounciation and I need to practice xD

When I'll understand Brian Johnson singing or speaking in interview, it will be the sign for me that's I have reach a great level in English x'D ! Here another example of "english is the language you most know", bonus interview in DVDs like ac/dc, are not translate in french hahaha ... (At least there are the english subtitles that make the comprehension really really more easier x) ).

Hey, it's no problem. It was the same for me too, ending my school year, and doing exams. So I can understand!

I'm glad I've given you interest in Japanese. It's a really interesting language, and it's pretty useful too, well, I don't know about in France. But in Australia! Because Japan is very close with us.
Yes, I think German would be a good language to learn, seeing as it is so similar.
Anyway, I have some friends from Italy, quite a few of them actually. And they all seem to know French. I guess it would be useful to know French as an Italian because they are right next to each other. However, when you told me about the languages to learn you never said anything about Italian. Is it common in France for people to know Italian.. do you know Italian? Or did your high school simply not provide it?

Also, by you saying you are forced to learn, English, Spanish/German, does that mean that there is a very low amount of people that only know 1 language? French?
In Australia it is high amount, because you are only forced to learn a language(s) in Primary School and you can drop it as soon as you get the chance. And you are only forced to study English.

Yeah, I think you're right. I heard that Chinese is the most used language, but I'm pretty sure that its only because there are billions of people over there. But not really as much people know it out of China, I guess. However, in Australia, a lot of people learn it. I used to learn it in Primary school.
When you were telling me about the languages you learned at school, it seems they were only European ones. We do have those languages available (depending on the school), but Asian languages are more in demand, as Asia is closer to us than Europe, and the trade/correspondence between Australia and Asia, (I'm quite sure) is higher, than it is: Australia and Europe.

I reckon if you wanted to learn another language, it would be really easy for you. Cause it seems you have studied lots of languages, and it would be easy for you to learn Japanese (although its very difference), but you have had much practice in the structure of learning Japanese- that once you learn all the new characters, it should be pretty easy!

It was nice to hear from you again Hope you are going well. And, what's your name by the way?

AtomiKSnaiL In reply to simonerizio [2014-02-14 22:19:06 +0000 UTC]

... I really take a long time to reply ! I'm sorry !!

I don't think Japanese is the more useful language in France, you're right like you say, it's a question of neighborhood ! xD

Now you say it, it's strange that we (french people) are not learning Italian. Maybe the area really next to Italy learn it ? I don't know. I know that in Alsace, the region next to Germany, there are a lot of french speaking German. I think they (the government) are choosing the most useful languages to learn, and then there must be a little part of History... Anyway, I don't speak Italian, never know a word, whenever I try to say a word in Italian, it's a Spanish word that came out of my mouth xD. And in my "entourage" I don't know anyone who speak Italian, I know some wanted to learn it by themselves, don't know if they had the courage to do it !

In France, there are a looooot of people who are only speaking French ! In School some just don't care about learning a new language, and some just forget it because after school they do not practice. And some don't even know how to speak French... x)

Yes, must be because of the population in China ! And apparently it's a hard language to learn, I heard some years ago that even the chineses were taking like 8 years to learn Chinese, I dunno if it's really true or not ....

For Chinese and Japanese, it's seems like (in France anyhow) people study those languages, because it's become "in", because of manga, their culture which are becoming more knows. It's already happened with German, when Tokyo Hotel were famous, a lot of girls were going into german lessons, like this they could translate the songs... And I make more effort in English because of Rock'n Roll ... Anyway !

I must try Japanese, I have some books about it, and it's actually the holidays here so I have some times to start ! But I think you must have more facilities than me for learning languages ! It's seems that you have studied more languages than I do ! I have just studied English and German, and a little of Spanish. And you, you have studied Chinese, Italian, French, Japanese ! If I don't forget one. (Maybe I have express myself badly, if you think I have learned more ! Sorry ^^' !)

And, I wanted to know if you have made some travels "around the world", seeing some others places ? And if you wanted to live in an other country than Australia ? Just to know, because in France, it seems like much of french people want to live somewhere else, most of the time in USA, Canada, Australia or England (London indeed...).

And my name is Sophie, what's your ?

I really like to speak to you ! Even if I take some months to answers ^^' !

And I hope you are going well too !

(I which I do not make to much mistakes ! I'm a little tired xD)

Now that you mention the fact that Alsace (France/ Germany border region), I have a friend from school who takes French and she went on a 6-month long trip to a place in France called Strazburg. She said that they speak Alsace language, (I think its called Alsatian? Like the dog xDD ) And she said she had a lot of trouble understanding what they were saying. Although she got to practice her French in other places. I think now she is quite fluent, and she is French by background, so she speaks some at home.

Yeah, Chinese is one of the hardest languages to learn because of 2,000+ characters!
Sadly, there doesn't seem much of that here (apart from Japanese > Manga/Anime), most songs and movies that people are interested in are in English! So there is not really the point xD

Japanese would be fun I assure you! And you can ask me if you have any questions !

Yes, when I was 14 (so, 2 years ago) I went on a school-trip to Japan for 2 weeks to practice Japanese! That was the first time I went to another country, and so far, it is the only trip outside Australia. I really want to go to Italy since my family is from there. Other countries like Norway, Iceland, Austria, Spain are all places I want to visit plus more travel around Australia! Some of America's states would be interesting too... What about you?

And I would love to live in another country, but currently which one... I am not sure!
My name is Simone
Thanks! You are interesting to speak too aswell! And I am going good thank you

Haha, yes they speak a kind a German, and they must have an accent, german one. There is some region like this in France where they are speaking another "french" an old 'patois' that has now nothing in common with the actual french... for the one in know, I don't know how to speak it but I hear my grand-mother speak like this sometimes that's fun ! But there are a lot of different patois that were spoken, now there are only the older people that still speak it. Your friend is lucky ! It must be great to past some times in another country to learn the language !

I'll start Japanese when I will have finish my homework xD I'm already doing to much stuff that distract me away from the work xD !

Chaaaaance ! Japan for 2 weeks ! In which city ?

And so you have visited differents places in Australia ?

I have make trips in Italy, England, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland (even if I don't really remember this one because it was just one day when I was younger, and it was because my grand-parents are not far away from Geneva (1hours something like this)). And a lot of trips in France.

I would like to go to Scotland ! It's my dreamed destination xD Then visit some other part of England because I have just visit London, Ireland, Australia, Canada (big change of temperature between the two xD), Germany too and like you said some american's states ^^ ! And of course I want to continue to visit France.

I'll pass see you when I will make a trip in Australia haha... one day... when I will have enough money x)
