Thank you, although I must say, I'm not really having a good start this year. But, better to have a bad start with a good ending, than a good start with a bad ending. But I'll have to wait 11 months to see that.

Hey, I feel you. I haven't had a great start to this year myself. But as you said, there's still 11 months to go. Things are bound to get better, hopefully.

Thanks for the greeting. I had plans for my birthday. Planned it a month in advance. But the Universe said- "Nah".

xD Np, comments are uncomplaining for waiting
Oh, sry to hear that, dude. Btw, i heared that SU habve trouble with big files, so other progs may possibly have less trouble with this.
Three different objects only in here. You surely can do more datils with adding just a few more objects. Maybe this seems as easy as it could be

I liked that tank. Making(modeling) tank tracks are... I find it tedious. I have basic models of tanks, dieselpunk style. But the tracks. I haven't found a way to make that part easier to do.

^^
It surely depends on the program you work with but so far i know most programs have a option to group one item - so you can copy&paste em as often as you want, arange them how you like it(and if you open it again and change some details, all other copys change the same way). So i just have one track-element 'wind up' to the rolls.
This procedure also minimises your level of faces(cause there are just one item and several 'set points' instead of a whole new item with doubkle that much faces aka work for your processors). If you have made and wind up the track, you can still play around with the details and see what works perfect Acutally i work with Google SketchUp, so if there is something i can help with - just ask^^
Btw.: i read that you had a bit trouble with round surfeces - this is just a kind of technique and went way more easy if you have all little tricks it needs. So it became a good thing to use bubbles and cones as kind of 3D-puzzle, warp them individually till you have the rough shape of your modell, then you group them to one object and intersect them.

Actually I too model with Google Sketchup. And I actually do group components, to save time. I just find the prospect of copying and pasting component 30 times or so a bit horrendous. Maybe when I have more free time, I may get the patience to do it. As for now, I am always feeling I'm on a deadline.
Warp? I don't recall having a warp tool in sketchup. Are we still talking about Sketchup?

It went easy for me as i get used to it regular. If i handle such huge numbers of similar objects i cop&paste one, then i copy paste this two/four/eight/sixteen, and so it is less work. In case of tank tracks i use this 'stick' of track-elemnts in a line and just angle always all parts exept the one i actually adjust to the rolls(i set the rols after feeling and just regulate lenght to fit the track with the last roll).
Well, yes, SU is very much able to eat up lifetime. I just can say it gets faster but ... just faster, not really fast, if you want a detailed model
I have the german version of SU, so forgive me i didn't have the correct name in mind - i checked it now and it was 'Scale', and it's a basic tool since - i guess - 2013? At last 2015.
Little tipp: Scale the object didn't also scale all other objects, but open the object, mark all and scale this does. So you fast can edit a lot of items and set the basic shape of your modell. The rest is just work in detail and comes as fast as creativity spit it out.

It tends to get slower, the copy paste technique, whenever I'm doing heavy starships with lots of redundant parts. It's probably my GPU. My desktop is 5 yrs old, and the hardware aren't exactly...Β let's just say it was a "budget edition". At thatΒ time I didn't think I would be doing a lot ofΒ modelling with my work. I'm currently using an Ultrabook as my main workstation. I wouldn't beΒ able to use it next summer. It'll die of heatstroke. That's why I need aΒ new desktop.

Ouh, yes, okay this sucks a bit. I suffer problems on very complex stuff, so i hardly try to keep all parts that are similar 'the same', to minimise surfaces. So my main work is done on a halve-cut version of my modell. Finally i mirror it and make it one part(and shred my GPU x.x).
I'm not that financed but i have a buddy sampling my PC parts to a economic masterpiece. I so can update all few years with the most important parts and so stay (relativly) up to date(or a few years behind). I'm not the fan of systems that can#t be updated in hardware, but yeah, you use what you have. Good luck in hunting a new one, and i can just hardly advertise to use a buddys tinker-skills with PCs - much better performance for less then halve the price of a preset one.

Wow, this was in October? Sorry for the late reply. Have been busy at work. Got bad luck in November and last Christmas. My laptopΒ broke. And my old desktop's GPU just died. And now I got backlogs.

The most busiest year of my life(so far). Very strenuous the august and october part. To some degree I can't complain. I got paid for my pains. And bought a lot of stuff. I already got my upper abs showing(lower abs soo very slow) and my pecs are finally developing. Sooooo... I suppose, I'm a little cheerful.Β Β Thank you.Β

Hey there! I know we never met before, but I heard from a friend of mine that you made some prettyβto quote the manβ"badass" pics of the Cthulhu mythos in an old account of yours, including aΒ visual demonstration of the morphological diversity of the Star Spawn .
Any chance you might re-post any of those one of these days? I'd definitely like to see 'em.
Thanks in advance, bro.

Hello there.
Well, since i'm terribly busy with work nowadays, and don'treally have any time to make new personal works. Yes, I will repost it again. Although I can't seem to remember this "Β visual demonstration of the morphological diversity of the Star Spawn ." stuff. Must look into my old porfolio again.
Do enjoy it when it comes.
