1: don't download anything from a "joined today"-new guy!
2: be very suspicious with skins that have hidden or disabled comments
3: If you insist to try it, right click on the download link, Copy Link Location, go to VirusTotal and check the link.
4: if it's clear download the file (DON'T unzip), go to VirusTotal again, upload the file for scanning
That's the safest way I know.
