uhmm, my tips is: its okay to copy (not duplicate) some reference that you might like. so you can learn and improve the way you draw something (like eyes, nose, hair, clothes, etc).
and the most important is always trying and dont give up!
do what ever you like to draw, just dont care what people saying!
