I'm probably never going to post that story. I wrote it to help me cope with something that happened in my family and it's really nothing more than a real life story with the Peanuts characters acting it out.

Hey, very interesting read. I'm sorry that my stories have really upset you that way. I would just like to state that I mostly write them for myself. I started the first one when I was still dorming at my old school. I had a very difficult time socializing with most the of the others and wasn't really into the whole partying thing. I somehow stumbled upon a Peanuts fanfic at that time which I loved so much that I started rewathcing most of the specials I hadn't seen in years. I realized how much Charlie Brown reminded me of myself: someone with very little self confidence, and decided to write a story as a means of venting creatively. I have no aspirations of being a writer or anything but I realized I did enjoy writing, so I figured I'd continue, and hey I even had a small number of fans which is a nice feeling. As you noted I started having some pretty major family problems around after I finished my first story regarding my dad (we knew signs of what was going on earlier but things really manifest themselves after I finisher that story which was around when I transferred to a University closer to home.)

Most importantly as I stated before, writing those stories simply are a means for me to get creative and escape all the stresses of real life instead of just playing video games (what I normally do). Of course I'm much busier now, with graduation coming up and the job hunt on (which in today's economy seems dismal) so I haven't written nearly as much.

And I apologize fer my earlier attacks here and on Youtube. I'm not completely sure what YOUR problems are, but I have a feeling we've had similar experiences, especially venting though through different methods.

I understand yer free to do as you please since they are YOUR stories (huh, emphasized that word twice); you just started; and the reasons you stated. But to be honest yet constructive, I feel you may have flanderized (in particular) Violet, Patty, Shermy, and certain situations and derailed Sally. I'm planning to properly research the comics and animations once I'm done with some other things. I've already read some of the earliest strips and can SORT OF understand why Violet feels hostile towards Charlie. But given what went on then, I guess I shouldn't feel TOO surprised that that roleplay thing you and the others are doing over at fanfiction.net place Shermy and Patty in villainous roles. Especially Patty.

Still, you've got quite a writing flair. I don't believe yer one to just give up. So despite all this and my bad feeling of how it's gonna end, I'm still looking forward to seeing you finish It's Your Summer, CB when you have the chance.

Heh, I digress. I perfectly understand your grievences about Flanderizing those character, especially Shermy. My justification is that he doesn't have really any character to begin with so I'm just making some up that kind of works with what we know (I know that really isn't a GOOD justification and I understand why people wouldn't like it). Patty and Violet struck me as good antagonist material since they are pretty cruel to the kid in the early strips before they sort of fade away. Unfortunately they don't get much of a chance to develop them. Eventually I do want to show that they aren't that bad of people, but who knows when I'll get to that. I'll also admit I usually don't really know what to do with Sally and I don't tend to write her that well.

I wouldn't take the roleplaying thing seriously, that's pretty much just for fun. I do thank you for the constructive critcism however and hope there are no hard feelings or anything.

I apologize if I never really responded in the past, I'm not one to deal with confrontation very much.

I certainly do. And it's as useful as it claims.

For all I know right now, those three seem to strike me as sympathetic and/or tragic villains. Kinda like how some Fairly Oddparents see Trixie and Veronica. But Joe Agate, Thibault, and (maybe) Clara are the real deal. *shudder* Can't speak for anyone else, though. I really wish there were a message board where you, TheRealRNO, those other fanfic writers, and I could discuss our various Peanuts issues.

Hard feelings seem to be dissipating; joining DeviantArt and talking with you and the others feels quite therapeutic. And don't worry about that last part. Whenever you resume writing, just know I'll be waiting.

It's amazing how much of my life I have lost now looking around TV Tropes, I really can't get enough of it.

Yeah, I know it doesn't seem like it, but Violet and Patty are fairly sympathetic in my eyes. Seeing as Charlie Brown is the main viewpoint it doesn't seem like it to him yet, but hopefully I'll make it apparent eventually. Thibault is more of a straight villain which is a shame he wasn't used as often. It was always interesting seeing someone like him in that sort of setting, which I guess may be why I admittingly overuse him.

But yeah seriously, Clara was freaking creepy. Good lord.

As for writing, I'm still doing it, just I've only been able to maybe bust out a paragraph every day or so instead of a couple of pages as when I started. Oh well.

Sympathetic; well, you've got MY vote there (and I'm not even registered ). Hmmm, straight villains. I wonder if Charles Schulz ever sampled any of the Three Stooges' work and what he might've thought of them?

Alas, fanfic writing can be a doozy, speaking from experience. But, whatever works best.
