Because they are wonderful characters that develop, the writing is a mix of good quality story telling and well paced character development and it all but impossible to not relate with at least one character. It a well rounded show that sit out in a sea of bland anime and retarded western animation. I heavily recommend that you at least give it a try.
Plus it has the greatest fan community!
