To start with, I'd recommend a contest organized by only one person, because group contests are often a little too big and draw too many "proffesional" drawers (people who draw Pokemon even better than Ken Sugimori himself) and such, wiping away the larger group of other artists.
What I wrote above is all from my own experience, I may have just joined a wrong contest or something like that (or maybe my memory is tricking me XD), but still... A good option would be :Trueform: his monthly contest. The next issue is released on the 15th of May, so in three days.

I have an idea for a Fakemon that I thought up a few years ago. It's design is very simple but it's quite versatile.
Name: Agricorn
Type: Grass/Flying
Ability: Popcorn: Returns a portion of the damage taken from Fire-type attacks.
Description: They use their four leaves as propellers to hover in the air. When groups of them come together, they can cause tornadoes.
It's a yellow ear of corn with four long green leaves on the top. It has two eyes that are just a bit larger than its kernels, and its mouth is between four of the kernels on its face. The leaves are on the top of its head, so its mouth is closer to the pointed end. It flies like a helicopter by spinning its leaves, and when it sleeps it wraps them around itself. It can also tunnel through the ground by wrapping them around itself and spinning like a drill.
