Ah, I don't care much for whatever goes on at conventions themselves, since I rarely do anything except walk around in costume and stuff my face with local food, LOL. But the photos I've seen make it look fairly scenic and good for photoshoots. Would you say that is true? Or is there another west coast con that you would recommend for the purpose of getting awesome photos? 

I'm originally from MD but have been living in TX the past 3 years. Hoping to make it back to the east coast in a year or two!

fanime is probably one of the best cons when it comes to nice photo location. but i think you may have a great time at sakuracon also.

for me, i just prefer location shoots. i think that shooting at cons ends up being very stressful as everyone is trying to squeeze too much into what little time they have.

that's cool you're in texas. i've been meaning to go out to austin for a shoot sometime.

That's right, I remember hearing good things about Sakuracon! I definitely prefer shooting on location, too, but traveling is expensive and conventions give me the biggest bang for my buck: I can see lots of friends and work with a variety of photographers, all at once. But anyway, if you're ever in TX and open to shooting, please let me know!

Well, not many people travel here for cons and such, so we don't really see an influx of new cosplayers or photographers or attendees usually. hah~
Tucson is pretty dumpy compared to the rest of AZ, at least in my opinion - but I suppose those there would beg to differ

Well, I don't plan to go to an AZ con. I've made it a goal to just travel and shoot cosplay. I think cons are just way to hectic and it's really just a pain in the butt. Alot of time is just wasted getting from point A to point B. Also I'm usually not thrilled about the backgrounds I find at con and then I normally don't even get through all the photos I take. This way I can get the photos I want, actually get to know people better, and spend less money on a fancy hotel room and whatnot.

That's very true, it's difficult to shoot at cons because of terrible locations; plus the whole money thing. But still, we don't get many photographers visiting, that are interested in cosplay least ways. So it will definitely be a pleasure meeting you! (:

Hah, well I've never even been there, but it would definitely be an amazing place to shoot. There aren't many places I can think of off the top of my head, but I'm sure if I sat down and actually thought I could come up with some places. I know a bunch of us were going to go up north during the winter for snow shots in a few months xD
