Hey, you have a fantastic gallery of cosplays! As a fellow (armor) cosplayer, I admire your works, so I hope you don't mind the watch!

How long does it take to make the journey cosplay? I'm planning to make a few for my cosplay group and I need to know what time frame I'm looking at...

It took me 2 weeks, but your mileage may vary, I've been sewing for close to 10 years when I made it!

well I did it... mostly :s didn't get the glyphs on them done, but apart from that they looked awesome, gonna work on them throughout the year and wear them again at the same con!

Thanks so much! I'm hoping to fix them up during the year and take them out to another con, this time with the glyphs ACTUALLY sewn on, instead of paint =_=; oops... Thanks for the fantastic DIY instructions!

I honestly would have kept my glyphs as straight heat and bond if I wasn't so worried about them falling off, so I feel you!
π: 0 β©: 1
watermelone-king In reply to BlackKrogoth [2015-04-29 06:59:35 +0000 UTC]
I ended up frantically trying to finish them, even the night before the con... so yeah, painted glyphs. I wish I wasn't a leave-it-to-the-last-minute kind of person :/ -_-; At the con another girl had done a journey cosplay, but her mask was made out of fabric the she could pull back, which seemed a lot more convenient, cause we were boiling under ours T^T

BlackKrogoth In reply to watermelone-king [2015-05-01 13:49:39 +0000 UTC]
I usually am a leave it to the last minute person too, but as I got older, instead of pulling allnighters I just don't do it for that con, much easier haha. My friend who did the white Journeyer did fabric that was attached to the hood, mine flipped up, but yeah these costumes are boilers.

Hahaha, I'm such a crap cosplayer still XD I hope to one day be as good as you! And to be able to design and make my own cosplays, but it's a lot of work and commitment and time and money, all of which I don't have right now I have so many OCs I want to do though!

Trust me, there's a lot of people I still look up to, you just gotta work on your skills continually, it's a lot of fun to figure it out as you go. It's also nice to have time to work on things, you can really learn new things when you take the time to make something

For the Journey cosplay pattern, how do I print it out? I of course only have a normal printer so I don't know how to make it the right size.
π: 0 β©: 2
BlackKrogoth In reply to Suikakitten [2013-01-26 05:51:56 +0000 UTC]
If you have Acrobat, you might be able to tile it as an option in the print options, or take it to Fedex Office to get it printed out on the large format printer.

Suikakitten In reply to BlackKrogoth [2013-01-26 17:13:38 +0000 UTC]
I managed to figure out the tile option. It took a while, but everything is all cut out and taped together!
