I watched your gallery and I find your pictures really amazing (I enjoy above all the ones of Byron, Poe, Austen, Emerson and Stephen Maturin... it's flabbergasting... and I live near Gustave Dore's birth house, next to my high school in France...a wonderful artist... thanks for representing him! :) (Smile) )

Sadly, it is a very common house, I'm not sure that it is the original one, but it stands at the same place :) (Smile)
Where I live and study, there are a lot of places, where came/lived famous people such as Goethe for example

Many houses of famous people seem to be easily missed like that, depressingly enough. Two of Edgar Allan Poe's houses are very plain and difficult to find. Must be exciting to be near so many great historic places!

two years ago was M. Obama in front of my high school :) (Smile)
As I lived in the quarter I had a pass to go home... and I could saw him... it was impressing!

I'm going to take your advice seriously (about pen-sketching) after the sketches I've seen in your blog. They're really amazing, I say. May I ask, how long have you been pen-sketching? And what will be the advice you would give to the newbie pen-sketcher? :) (Smile)

Well, if you go through the blog to the first entry, that's roughly when I started. I may have been doing pen sketches for about a year now, if my memory is correst. And the best advice I can think of at the moment is... Don't be afraid! It doesn't have to be perfect, as it is an exercise mainly, and mistakes may happen. My main goal through it is to develop some accuracy with speed--much more enjoyable that living with an eraser in your hand and changing lines constantly by a fraction, trying to get details JUST right... It's simply fun and laid-back, and is rewarding once you pick up the pencil, too!

Yes, I've went through all of them. :) (Smile) And a year's worth of pen-sketch practicing really paid off, as I can see. Lots of improvements!

Yeah, I hear you, and I'm sorry--that must be frustrating for you. I'm insanely busy as well. TOO busy. I actually got my arms "busted" from tendonitis back in summer '06 and I'm still recovering from it. As a result of that and the truckload of work from college piled on top of me, art has become a real rarity for me.
