Awright. I've done some research, and I've got some points to make here.
You argue that Dialga and Palkia "don't look like pokemon", due to not being "animal-like". Regardless of previous arguments, this point in itself is false.
[link] Dailga, as you can see, has a similar build to that of a sauropod. [link] Similarly, Palkia's appearance is reminiscent of a theropod.
While not modern animals, dinosaurs are definitely animals. And an argument against this cannot be made without calling attention to Aerodactyl.
As for non-animal-like pokemon outside of Generation 1, here ya go.

The "Mis" pokemon are ghosts which can be any shape.
Already stated that I have managed to use obsuce trivial to lump Unknown in with nonanimal legedaries.
Sableye I already conceded.
Nosepass, lunatone, and solrock fall under the exeption of living rocks as established by Geodude.
Baltoy, claydol, and castform were all man made.
Shuppet is a ghost.
Chimecho reminds me of some animal which I forget the name of (I think is was related to squirles)

Before I address anything else, the DP duo. The first point I made, and no arguments against it? I'll take that point.
And another thing: you claim to have "lumped Unown in with the non-anjmal legendaries", when this is something you explicitly called Dialga and Palkia out on.
The man-mades, I'm willing to drop my point on.
Also, ghosts aren't exactly animals, so I wasn't sure of your stance on them.
Regardless, your entire argument hinges on Gen 1 being an "exception", but you also extend this to similar pokemon like Solrock. If Gen 1 is regarded as the established norm, though, your argument falls flat, seeing as Gen 1 has many non-animal pokemon. Further supporting this is the pokemon Magnezone, a Gen 4 evolution to Magneton, establishing such a pokemon as "par for the course", if you will.
Regardless of your arguments, I do not accept Gen 1 as an "exception"; I view it as a base. A starting point, if you will, to be built up from, without ignoring, overlooking, or "excepting" the quirkier characters. That said, think what you will. I doubt I'll change your mind any more than you'll change mine.
Gulpin line, Snorunt line, Beldum line, Drifloon line, Bronzor line... Do you concede these, or simply wish to cover them at a time more convenient for you? I'll assume the latter for Gen 5.
Really, I do enjoy debating like this. Much more refreshing to "argue" with someone intelligent than it is to play with the trolls. It is fun, though, seeing how quickly you can reduce them to mere profanity, insults, and/or "lol".
