I had to move it to storage, because some disrespectful people kept insulting the staff in the comment section (while I specifically asked people to express their opinions in a civil way), and they eventually went so far as to use this deviation to insult the staff directly on their journals and profiles, in places when I was powerless to stop them. This was spiraling out of control, so taking the whole deviation down was the only way I could put an end to this madness.
I understand people are uspet - hell, I am upset by the change too. But weaponizing someone's work to pressure, insult or harass others is wrong. This whole thing went too far, and it wasn't even the message I was trying to convey: the deviation was about peaceful acceptance, letting go of the past, and welcoming change no matter how heartbreaking or disappointing it is. Those haters did the total opposite of what I was trying to say...

It's understandable. During my 12 years here on dA, if there's something I've learnt, it's that many people don't follow the wishes of the artist. In your case, your wish that people expressed their opinions in a civil way. It isn't difficult to do in theory, yet it's so difficult in practice.
I have no idea how "they" used your drawing to insult the staff on their journals and profiles, unless they shared a thumbnail and link to your drawing?
Again, it's understandable that you chose to move it to storage when the result of the drawing became something else you'd expected.

Well it's simple, they posted the thumbnail on the targeted profile and staff journals along with insulting messages. This was starting to go too far. I didn't even expect anything with that deviation: I'm fairly unknown in my safe little corner of DA, and all I wanted was to express my own personal feelings about the change, that's all.
To be honest, I'm tired of this whole pro/anti-Eclipse shit, and therefore I'm stepping back. Won't sign any more petitions (already signed this one some weeks ago anyway: I recognize the title and update).

People are engaging less and less in group activities, it seems... As if the "community spirit" was somewhat fading. Overall, DA feels quieter, even on popular artists' pages. It was so moving, I really haven't got any words to say, I'm speechless. I literally am editing my comment again and again, cause I'm not sure of what words to write.
I can't say that I relate to you, because I've never been through what you've experienced and experiencing now as well. But the only thing, I could think of being common is that I too have been a victim of bullying. And worse, where I come from, they're not even aware of what bullying is. Yes, I belong to third world country, which has a low literacy rate. They consider bullying as a macho-thing around here. No one understands it, but it really has made me depressive and having suicidal thoughts too.
I know this is an unusual long comment but I didn't want to write it to you via note, cause I don't think that's a right thing to do, after reading you journal, I realized it.
In the end, I ask for your permission to share the flash animation to my facebook page, cause I can't think of any better words to say about bullying to my friends. I really only want to share this for awareness purposes, I really have no commercial or promotional intentions.
