hey im replying because of one of your comments on an anime pic (much like some other people here) just to say that i completely disagree with you, your art is quite good, but just because you think anime art is inferior doesnt mean you should leave comments saying it sucks.

you can critisize anime all you want when you learn how to create it. (which is why i am not critisizing your style of art)

XD I hate to say it, but I found your site through the anime comment, as well. But I didn't think lots of people would be getting up in your face about it - especially after the huge time gap.

I came just out of curiosity, and I browsed through your gallery, and you have a whole load of talent. Personally, I love the colors you choose and just the composition of every piece is stunning. It's a shame you don't appreciate the full extent of anime art, and I'm sorry you had to experience the nasty, over-protective people of that art genre. But everyone has their own preferences, and you're amazing at what you do.

I did actually find your gallery due to the whole anime thing...

I really do love your paintings. I rarely see any actual painters on here, and it's a refreshing change. In disagreement with the person below me, I find your color choices very original and a real nice change, again, from the rest of DA.

I like your style. And, haha, to tell the truth, the only reason I found your corner on DA, was because of the anime comment, which I agree with it, for the main portion. :]

It's amazing how many pv's you got from your flame on anime and manga style art.

You are obviously very talented, but comments like the one you made reveal a rather off-putting perspective on art: That art should be valued simply by how non-accessible it is. This perspective really bothers me, If someone puts a lot of effort into cartooning in an original style, for example, Frank Miller's Sin City or the style of Ghost World, that piece of art can have as much value as a work in a supposedly 'higher' style. Fine art is the poor man's version af fine art. Acting all aristocratic and pretentious about social levels in art is fucking ridiculous and the sort of thing that should have been put behind you in high school.

On the other hand, there is far too much anime on DeviantArt. There's far too much Anthro on DeviantArt. There's far too much photography of black and white naked women on DeviantArt. DeviantArt is a website to which anyone can contribute, and while the lack of creativity disturbs me as well (to which I willfully admit I have fallen victim many times) I think that these artists will either eventually refine their style to something unique or drop off the earth as nameless automatons.

To anyone who comes here posting more comments:

Nobody cares that you know the millions of genres of anime, or the many different plots of shows. That was not the point. Maybe you should read something for two seconds before your kneejerk reaction ends up dislocating something. It's entirely true, most anime-style artists here aren't terribly original in their style. But there are those few gems of the style, and there are people who can work their way up to that level. The problem is people are drawing anime without understanding realistic art first, and there's definitely a flaw there. Learn to draw people before you draw anime people and maybe you won't look like you are tracing from every other anime picture on the entire internet.

I am personally a fan of anime art, but I feel its ridiculous for people to constantly flame you for ONE comment you made months ago. It WAS rude, but still nontheless, its rude for people to negatively critisize people for any reason. Deviantart should be an open minded community. Most people at deviantart are nicer here than they are in real life (I'm one of them). Basically what I wanted to say is that everyone should back off eachother. There's no reasons to start arguments over the net with people you'd never meet anyway. All flamers should just lighten up.

i am most definatley NOT trying to be a bitch here, your style is very creative, but others can draw anime as they lease. is a very talanted person, and he is drawing anime, because he loves it. we all have things we love, and we would do anything to express it. for all us anime lovers, our way, is drawing anime, no matter how crappy of an anime artist we may be.
