# About me
Ianto Jones is a very private person. Little is really known about him - even those who work with him in the Torchwood team barely know anything of his personal life. He once worked at Torchwood 1 in London but after the Battle of Canary Wharf he joins Torchwood 3 in Cardiff as the "tea boy" and general caretaker of the Hub and its personnel, though his role grows throughout his three seasons on the series.Unlike the other members of the Torchwood team including Gwen Cooper, Ianto is not recruited.
In the season two episode,Fragments Jack and Ianto's first meeting is shown (a title card notes that it occurred 21 months previously), Jack is attacked by a Weevil in a park and Ianto assists him in subduing the alien. Ianto refers to the Weevil as a Weevil, Jack takes the Weevil into custody as Ianto compliments Jack's coat.
The next morning Ianto braces Jack about a job and offers Jack a mug of excellent coffee. Jack admits he ran a background check on Ianto since he knew what a Weevil was. He notes that Ianto was a bit of a drifter working odd jobs prior to his job with Torchwood 1 and was picked up for a minor shoplifting charge in his teens. Jack keeps telling him he can't have a job. Ianto tells him he doesn't know what to do with his memories of the fall of Torchwood 1 and the battle of Canary Wharf.
The third time they meet, Ianto steps in front of Jack's moving vehicle on a rainy night, at the end of his rope Jack lights into Ianto telling him off once and for all, Ianto responds with, "So you're not going to help me with the Pterodactyl then?"
Ianto proves his versatility and usefulness by tracking down the Pterodactyl, he also notes Jack's natural scent, Jack claims he doesn't wear cologne or aftershave but he does have 51st century pheromones. Ianto uses an enormous bar of dark chocolate to lure and distract the dinosaur. Jack falls onto Ianto after tranquilizing the Pterodactyl. For the few seconds they're locked in an unlikely embrace the men share a strangely intimate moment.

Ianto is now Immortal because none of us can stand to see him die.

Ianto woke up from the knock out gas and started trotting over to Torchwood. He opened the door. "Jaaaaaaaack. Where are you?"

Jack was passed out in his office at his desk, surrounded by kittens paperwork.

He jumped and shook him. "Jack. Jack, please. Wake up."

Jack shook his head a little and opened his eyes. "Funny. I don't remember falling asleep on the floor--"

"I don't know. I..I just woke up."

"I'm so glad you're here."

Ianto hugged back tightly. "I think the Doctor was there... All I really remember was that he glowed orange, used it on me and told me I couldn't die anymore."
