Hello everyone, do you love dinosaurs? Have you played Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis? Well after 13 years a small indie team is taking up the task of creating a spiritual successor to a game that allows you to build your very own dinosaur theme park. allowing you to play as the park operator, visitor, and even the dinosaur this game brings things to the table no other tycoon simulator can. with very little time left to make this game a reality please help us and support them on kickstarter. www.kickstarter.com/projects/1…

So, how do you think Jurassic World will turn out? I hear the raptors are important in this one.

Same script writers of the new Planet of the Apes movies did Jurassic Worked too. So, rise of the planet of the raptors? XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BrooksLeibee In reply to Genome707 [2014-07-24 00:31:46 +0000 UTC]

Hey dude! Long time to see, huh?
hehe
Honestly, I think it could go either way, though I'm expecting one of the best films of 2015, not to mention one of the highest grossing films of 2015.
In the leaked brochure images and documents we're finding that there are no Velociraptors on the park's list.
Shown here:
www.inentertainment.co.Γ’&…;
(Notice how there's no Spinosaurus ;D)
It's known that the raptors are in the film, though. There was a leaked photo of one of the Animatronic RaptorsΒ for the film, and one is featured in the exclusive SDCC Poster. MyΒ theory is that they live in the forests, wild, where the park is not sectioned, possibly cut off from the rest of the island. They could have part in why the park goes to shit in this film, along with help from the genetically engineered "Diabolus Rex".

I'm liking how the film is looking in terms of story, actors and writing. I'm also glad to see Legacy Effects are back with the Animatronic Dinosaurs. I'm mostly excited that Phil Tippett and Dennis Muren are returning to bring back their amazing use of CGI/Practical FX mixtures in scenes.

I blame the Nazis from Wolfenstein the New Order! I had to defeat them on both Xbox 1 and 360. XD
Now I got into the Destiny beta...

Yeah, I agree, Jurassic World will either be epic awesome or absolutely terrible. I for one hope it will be awesome, but Aliens Colonial Marines ruined my trust for our entertainment industry.

Well, I heard Chris' character is working with raptors and that there was plans for a close encounters attraction for raptors also. XD
Yes, I saw that image of the animatronic raptor and loved it, especially since it still looks like our traditional JP raptors. XD

It's a good theory since that Comic Con poster, me really want that cause raptors are my favorite, appears to hint that there are raptors running loose. Plus the map from the brochure shows the new park does not cover the entire island, most of the north looks untouched and even walled off from the new park.
Again, raptors could become this universes intelligent challenger to humanity. I say that cause the writers are the sane team who did Rise/Dawn of the planet of the Apes. So, Rise of the raptors? I support this. XD

I wonder if the military will get called in once the new park falls apart again? I recently purchased the graphic novels/comic for the original Jurassic Park called Classic Jurassic Park. They take place right after the movie ends and the U.S. military stepped in to contain the situation rather than just Shock and Awe bomb the island as in the actual book.
Marines versus raptors? Oh god, it'd be like Aliens!

I am happy to see that Jurassic World will be using animatronics and not just be a CGI crap fest as most movies now. I miss Stand Winston though, he was amazing for his work on Jaws, Predator, and Jurassic Park.
I also have some faith for the script since the writers did a great job for Planet of the Apes.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BrooksLeibee In reply to Genome707 [2014-07-24 04:29:42 +0000 UTC]

I agree. Stan will always be missed.
Apparently there are going to be military involved. If you check the film's IMDb page there are "InGen Militants" in the cast list. So I think we'll be seeing some Military vs Dino action at some point in the film.

I haven't been into much gaming to be honest. Just got started working about a month ago, so that's been keeping me busy. I do get some gaming and movie watching done every now and then though. I actually found my old PS1 while moving my room upstairs. I don't have any games for it, on the look for Dino Crisis and Resident Evil titles though.

I also jump on Gmod and Team Fortress here and there as well.

Congrats! Are you liking how it's turning out?

Genome707 In reply to BrooksLeibee [2014-07-24 13:29:02 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, now I hear they wanna remake Predator! I say no to this cause the Robocop remake sucked. Stop remaking 1980s movies I love Hollywood! Leave Aliens and Predator alone, "Game over man, game over." XD

Um, Ingen militants might not be military though. They could be the island's private security force, hired mercs/rent a cops, or just hot headed Ingen staff who happen to have guns.
I'm down for some military versus dino action, but if some troops get wiped out by raptors/rex/mutant dinos, we'd probably just Shock and Awe the entire Isla Nublar island. Heck, they could even drop a nuke if they felt it was justified or use that stuff from the movie The Rock, thermite bombs.
Wouldn't want the dinos getting loose from the island or say falling into the wrong hands. XD

Gaming kind of sucks now to be honest. I can't really say I was excited for much this year besides the new Wolfenstein game and E3 was pretty much meh this year too. Maybe that new Alien game has me interested, but got burned before ala Colonial Marines last year. XD
Dude, that's cool! Try checking flea markets or perhaps Amazon, I sometimes find games pretty cheap for PS1. I got a PS Vita and you can download and play PS1 games on it. Got Dino Crisis 1 and 2, plus the original three Resident Evils, FF7, and the big one... Metal Gear Solid. Man I love MGS1, so much nostalgia. XD

I thought that dinosaur multiplayer game was supposed to release on consoles too? It never did...
We hardly ever get any dino games now and I have not heard of a new Turok or Jurassic Park game. Personally, I'd love another JP game like The Lost World Jurassic Park from PS1. You got to play as both humans and dinosaurs including a raptor and a rex. XD

Destiny? Fun to play with friends and the game itself is fine. However, it feels like a giant knock off of think Halo and Borderlands. So essentially it is Halolands. XD
I prefer single player games more so than these multiplayer fests we generally get now that push spending more money on DLC or crap microtransactions.
I hear the new Doom game might turn out good. XD

I actually quite enjoyed the Robocop remake. haha

I thought the new Predator film was going to be another sequel. O-O
There's a Player's Choice store that I have contacts in at a local mall here. They said the next time they get a Dino Crisis title for the PS1 they'll give me a call.

Yeah sadly it didn't. Though the campaign version of the game is coming as a PS4 exclusive soon! Primal Carnage: Genesis! I'm sure there'll be a type of multiplayer on that aswell.
A few new games I'm excited for Doom 4, Dead Island 2, The Legend of Zelda, Dying Light, and of course Primal Carnage: Genesis.
Of course I'm only excited for the many walkthroughs as I have no interest in purchasing a next gen console. haha

Negative, this is the true Robocop movie. m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=pGemfK…

Nope, they said it will be a remake of the original 1987 Arnold, "I'll be back!" Original. Lame! XD
Don't got any store like that in my hometown, just Gamestops and they don't freakin sale old games. I'd rather buy old games now, new games are really starting to just plain suck. XD

They announced that a year ago and have said nothing since. You'd think it was cancelled...
I'm not really feeling excited for most games these days. Too many sequels, too many dang zombie games, too many feel little different from past games just have prettier graphics.
It should be about improving the gameplay, not just the graphics like in the old days.

There's no reason to get a next gen anything, even pc if ya ask me. Everyone is too scared to take risks or keep milking my generations nostalgia for the NES/Super Nintendo in the indie scene. I've purchased a number of overhyped games thus year like Titanfall and Watch Dogs and both were pretty disappointing.

Oh man, I hope they release a trailer for Jurassic World soon...

BrooksLeibee In reply to Genome707 [2014-07-26 19:51:11 +0000 UTC]

Of course the original will always be superior. I just liked what they did with the updated adaptation of the story.
This --->collider.com/predator-reboot-s… <---

I love player's choice. Not only do they have games there, they have a HUGE collection of comics and merch available for purchase. There's also all of these sweet old-school arcade games there.

Nah, it's still in production. Only it's going to take a bit longer till it is ready to be released. -->Β β€œPrimal Carnage: Genesis isn't out of the picture entirely, but it has taken a bit of a back seat to the work that our team’s been doing to greatly improve the existing game,” - Lukewarm Media founder, Aaron Pollack.

The Legendary/Universal panel at SDCC is today, and there's chance that they'll be showing some Jurassic World footage! Possibly even a teaser! D

Genome707 In reply to BrooksLeibee [2014-07-26 20:18:47 +0000 UTC]

The original had Arnold man, back during his prime. XD

Sounds like a pretty cool gaming store! Wish we had one of those here. Today's games are all about the graphics instead of the gameplay. I cannot understand how Aliens Versus Predator 2, a game from the early 2000s is superior to many Aliens games and shooters today. XD

Aww man, I was afraid of this happening. We have got a sever lack of dinosaur games these days, heck, years. XD
I heard rumors of a new Dino Crisis in the works, but after how bad Resident Evil 6 turned out? I dunno. XD

Nice, I hope they show us something cool for Jurassic World.
Not buying the poster, people want way too much money for them. XD

What time is the panel at btw?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BrooksLeibee In reply to Genome707 [2014-07-27 16:03:57 +0000 UTC]

Arnold is good in everything. xD Only I was still talking about Robocop.

It's awesome. I'll have to take some photos of what they've got going on and send you some so you can get an idea of how AWESOME the place is. hahaha

Yeeah. We have a lot of great Indie Dino games coming out though. The Stomping Land, Beasts of Prey, Saurian, Project Crynosaurus, and a few others that are still in development.

A new Dino Crisis would be badass!! It would probably look amazing too, a next gen look in that cinematic/locked down visual style that the old games had.

Sadly nothing on JW on the panel. Though we did get something Dinosaur related! Legendary's releasing an origin film on King Kong titled, "Skull Island."
I have the book, "King Kong: The Island of the Skull", which is the prequel to Peter Jackson's 2005 King Kong, and if it's anything like this book, it's going to be an amazing film. The book has a nice horror element that the film didn't have much of, that felt very Jurassic Park like actually, so I can imagine it being a cinematic success to fans of the original and the 2005 adaptation.

It was around 4 o'clock I believe.

Genome707 In reply to BrooksLeibee [2014-07-27 20:51:39 +0000 UTC]

Arnold isn't just good, he's freakin fantastic! XD
Conan, the Terminator, Commando, etc. XD
New Robocop was PG-13 and he was using a taser...

I have not heard of any of those games and nor do I recall the press mentioning them. Must be PC only stuff. I'd love a full triple A dinosaur game like Dino Crisis, Turok, Jurassic the Hunted. XD

I only heard rumors of a new Dino Crisis, it has not been 100% confirmed or denied yet. It may just be a remake/reboot of the original game too though.Β

Nothing at all? Lame, but understandable since they just finished shooting the movie and are in the process of editing it now.Β
Hmm, sounds interesting, but I still liked Jurassic Park a lot more. XD

4:20!? Oh no...the raptors and the rex got high? XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BrooksLeibee In reply to Genome707 [2014-07-28 15:43:47 +0000 UTC]

I wouldn't call Jurassic:Β The Hunted a triple A title.
xD It was like the budget version of Turok.

A remake of the original story would be badass! With better dialogue. That's all I'm asking for. lol

Well they did show off their new vehicles, including a Mercedes G63 AMG, and that whole poster giveaway.Β
Nothing could beat the first! lol

Yeah, it would be, well, if done right that is man. XD
Lol, the cooky dialogue from old Capcom games are awesome!
"You were almost a Jill sandwich!" XD

Mmm, I like me a nice Mercedes-Benz car, It's the German part in me. XD
I really liked the poster, but people are asking way too much money for it.
True, the original is usually the best.

Genome707 In reply to BrooksLeibee [2014-07-28 23:22:06 +0000 UTC]

Anywhere from $200 to around that, yes. Lame, a poster isn't worth that much man.Β

I'd rather buy a new tv or PS4 with that kind of money.Β

And we are still forgetting something, there's still a chance the movie can be a complete fail at the box office. It's too early to tell how Jurassic World will do and if the actually movie itself is going to live up to the hype.Β

Plus, it is coming out during a pretty busy summer of other hyped up blockbusters. XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BrooksLeibee In reply to Genome707 [2014-07-30 21:51:45 +0000 UTC]

I think it'll do very well in the box office. Even if it's a terrible film. I mean, look at how good Jurassic Park 3 did!
I also think it'll be pretty darn good. I mean, come on. Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver are writing for it. And with how good Rise AND Dawn of the Planet of the Apes turned out to be. This has got to be as good, or maybe even better.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Genome707 In reply to BrooksLeibee [2014-07-30 23:00:32 +0000 UTC]

I heard that JP3 did worse than Lost World and JP1 at the box office though, that's why the franchise was put on hold for over a decade.Β

I know that the same people who did the awesome new Planet of the Apes movies wrote the script for Jurassic World. I just wonder if they are gonna make some of the dinosaurs, such as the raptors or the mutant one, a lot more intelligent ala the apes from those movies. XD

The director himself said it would be boring if we just got the same, "Ah! Run from the scary dinos!" that we got from the last two. XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BrooksLeibee In reply to Genome707 [2014-07-31 00:06:28 +0000 UTC]

Well yes, but being how obnoxiously terrible it is compared to it I'm surprised that it did as well as it did ($181,171,875 Domestic; $187,608,934 Foreign, w/ #1 rank in it's Opening Weekend).
So it didn't do too bad.
Nah, they're prolly gonna play it as it should be. The Raptors were already plenty smart, so I don't see how they could get any smarter. xD

It's definitely going to be a smarter film. With Trevorrow's awesome direction (Safety Not Guaranteed was great) and w/ Rick and Amanda's amazing writing ability, I'm sure this film will be an ass kicker in the box office.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Genome707 In reply to BrooksLeibee [2014-08-01 22:16:21 +0000 UTC]

It was terrible in comparison to even The Lost World man. XD
No, but just because it had money thrown at it doesn't mean it was good. Looking at you Transformers movies. XD

Doesn't seem that way if you ask me, especially since the script was done by Rick and Amanda. The raptors will probably outsmart the cocky Ingen security forces and eat them. XD
Get smarter eh? I dunno, they did a great job making the apes smarter in Planet of the Apes. Raptors could be next...

We shall see man, I really hope it is, but we've been burned before by Hollywood.Β
I dunno man, it is coming out right around when Avengers 2 and the new Star Wars movie releases...

Hmm, Resident Evil X Dino Crisis game? XD
Excellent idea!Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BrooksLeibee In reply to Genome707 [2014-08-03 03:26:03 +0000 UTC]

Now you're putting words in my mouth, I never said it was good. -_-
The Lost World: Jurassic Park was fantastic! It did a good job including both ideas from the second novel, AND included scenes from the first novel that the first film missed. Also: more Malcom.

The only reason why the Apes got more intelligent in Rise is from the chemical that theΒ Gen-Sys Co. made, ALZ-112.
The Raptors in the JP world are just smart. Not Planet of the Apes smart. lol

The only thing I'd be worried about is the new Star Wars film.Β

It's going to be a great year for film none the less.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Genome707 In reply to BrooksLeibee [2014-08-24 21:39:00 +0000 UTC]

lol, it wasn't! XD
I think the movie did a better job with Lost World than the book did.Β

True, but this is Science Fiction land! Just about anything goes, especially since last I checked we still haven't cloned a dinosaur ala Jurassic Park. Plus let us not forget that as the book and movies pointed out these are genetically engineered creatures. So just about anything can happen when ya mess with mother nature and play God.Β
The raptors were up there, heck, I'd compare them to the Hunter B.O.W.s from Resident Evil! They can open doors too... XD

The original cast looks so old and Luke got fat man. XD

If only there were good games too. XD

I really did enjoy TLW. Very much.

True though the whole "human-like" dinosaur idea was hated by fans world-wide. Remember that mess?
It'd be almost the same thing, except of course they won't be human/dinosaur - hybrid mutants. I say keep them primal like they were meant to be. They're fine as they are. haha

Mark Hamill actually got a little bit in shape for his role! So did Harrison and Carrie!

So, new plot details emerged about Jurassic World man. Tamed Velociraptors appear to be a reality. XD

Alien Isolation turned out excellent! 9/10 from me, the universe needed to do a solid for us fans of Aliens who got mega burned by Gearbox's crapfest last year! XD

BrooksLeibee In reply to Genome707 [2014-10-16 02:27:35 +0000 UTC]

I know! The trailer summary is such an exciting read! D

I also know! I've been watching the gameplay and I'm highly impressed. Esp. with the graphics and the detail they put into the different ship interiors. Also, the Xenomorph itself looks MARVELOUS. It's so eerie and claustrophobic.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Genome707 In reply to BrooksLeibee [2014-10-16 20:10:38 +0000 UTC]

If that summary is true, sounds like we might be getting a good movie next year. XD
Tamed raptors though lol.Β

I've played through Alien Isolation on Xbone and it was awesome, I even watched Alien again after finishing it. They really did an excellent job of capturing that low-fi science fiction of the 70s and 80s in the design of the ships and the Sevastopol station itself. You really feel like you are a part of the universe unlike Colonial Fails last year.Β
The Xenomorph is extremely well detailed and its A.I. is not stupid. The game would've sucked if the Xeno's A.I. was dumb or broken, but it's good enough to keep you on edge, but not too cheap to make the game unfair.Β

I just wish we could've gotten a amazing game based on Aliens, I'm more of a Aliens fan than Alien. XD
The original two PC only AVP games were pretty good though, especially the Colonial Marine campaign in AVP2 made by the guys who did F.E.A.R. during early 2000s.Β
