I don't know yet. I haven't been really into it lately. Hopefully I snap out of this funk and take some more soon.

I think you mean, depth of field, there are 3 main factors of this 1. aperture , 2,focal length of the lens, & 3, Camera-to-Subject Distance, you may find your camera may limit you to what you can achieve with depth of field, a full dig SLR Camera is what you need, check out the link below for more info on depth of field and how you can achieve it.

do you know how to set the camera to where everything is moving except the focus subject?

saying that your camera is not that bad, i would double check your setting on it, ie, iso speed & image quality, for portraits you want low iso speeds, It stops the image noise,

alright. I really like some of your shots and thats why i asked, cause i want to help you out. Some of your shots that i think would be really great have a lot of color noise in them. You can get rid of that by making sure you keep your ISO setting below 400 at all times or even lower if you can. (the lower you go, the better image quality you will get) The downside is you need longer exposures, so i would suggest shooting with the aperture priority setting and letting the camera auto choose the shutter speed. You may have to make sure your subjects stay still a bit longer, and you might have to hold the camera extra steady, but you will get a lot higher quality of shots without having to buy a new camera.

ok so it doesnt matter when the shots are taken as in the time of the day when the light changes for the ISO settings? and what would be a good shutter speed for better quality. And I guess I need to invest in a tripod lol for the extra still situation.
thanks so much for filling me in. Im REALLY new at this photography stuff so Im taking notes.
