What is Broucke?
The Broucke Estate is a virtual pet adoption agency run exclusively on deviantART, comprised of MasterOfUnlocking 's original species. Pets found here can be collected, bred, traded with other Broucke watchers, and utilized in Broucke games and events.

Before you begin, keep in mind that acquiring a Broucke pet does not make the creature, or it's design, your property. It is a game piece for your use within the events held at Broucke , and all rights remain with the agency.

Only members of deviantART who watch the Broucke account can adopt and own the pets found here.


Adopting Standard Pets

The featured folder of the Broucke gallery is the Adoption Center, where available pets seek their new homes. A pet that is looking for a home will always state "Up for Adoption" in it's title. If you see a pet with "Up for Adoption" set as it's title that you would like to adopt, simply leave a clear and direct comment saying that you would like to claim/adopt it and provide a name for said pet. For Example:

I would like to claim this pet, with the name ---desired name here---

This shortened variation is acceptable as well:
Claim: ---desired name here---

The pet will go to the first person to post a proper claim, with both the intent to adopt and the pet's name clearly contained in one comment - not spread out over multiple comments or replies. Please do not edit your adoption attempts; they will be considered void if you do so.

Unless otherwise stated, you may only adopt one pet every 24 hours!


Adopting Pets With Conditions
Sometimes a pet's title will state "Up for Adoptions: Conditions". This means that in order to adopt the pet, you must first meet certain requirements. The condition will be found in the pet's description. Conditions can vary from puzzles to be solved, scavenger hunts, guessing games and art or literary contests. As with any adoption attempt, always include a clear and direct comment saying that you would like to claim/adopt the pet and provide a name for them.


Aquatic Species

In order to tame, custom order and own aquatic pets, you must have an Aquatic Caretaker under your employ to provide for and watch over them. Aquatic Caretakers are most readily available through purchase or commission, though on rare occasion, can be obtained through an event or contest.
An Aquatic Caretaker that is seeking a home will always state 'Available for Employment' in their title.

With an Aquatic Caretaker, you may claim or tame one aquatic pet every 24 hours.
You must provide a link to your caretaker when attempting to claim or tame an aquatic pet. As so:

The description of the aquatic pet will always detail whether or not the word 'claim' or 'tame' should be used; but for quick reference, the word claim or tame may be used for first come, first serve aquatic pets. However, when there is an escape or capture rate listed on the pet, one should always use the word 'tame' when attempting to adopt them, as they are considered wild.


Artificial Species
Cradle
Artificial species can only be adopted through the Biological Engineering division.
To access the equipment and materials required to obtain an artificial species, you must request adequate clearance. Different levels of clearance have different requirements which must be met.
Once you have obtained the appropriate materials, you may turn them in at the Biological Engineering main page. Doing so will result in the creation of an artificial pet.


Limited Edition & Event Species
Limited Edition Species such as the Anubis and Ignotis cater to the connoisseur's palette, and are typically obtained through auction or purchase from the Pet Shop with USD or . Edition numbers depend on the species in question.

Event Species are pets that can only be obtained during special events and breeding seasons; they cannot be bought or adopted through standard means. Benedette are one such example, available only during the month of August when the Ignotis species offer their blessing to expecting couples. Another example are Nemkin , which were contest prizes in the Outbreak event of 2014.


General Adoption Information & Rules
Your deviantART account must be at least 3 months old to adopt pets from Broucke .

Be sure to read the artist's comments before attempting any claim, as there may be certain conditions that must be met in order to adopt the creature in question. If a claim is posted incorrectly, you will not be given a second chance on that creature.

Please do not edit your claim attempts. Doing so will void your attempted claim, and the pet in question will go to the next person with a correct attempt. If you wish to change a pet's name, you may do so with the use of a Title Change from the Item Shop .

Personalities
After successfully adopting one of our creatures, you may provide a personality for your pet if you wish to do so. While personalities are not required for general adoption, some events require your pet have a personality in order to participate.

Gifting
Unless otherwise stated, you cannot claim pets for other people. You can, however, gift a pet of your own to another watcher of Broucke during trading season if you wish. Please keep in mind that members who wish to leave the agency or abandon their pets must return them directly to Broucke .

Inactivity
While participation is greatly encouraged here at Broucke , you are free to interact as much or as little with your pet as you feel up to. The pets found here will not starve or run away, even if you decide to take a break from deviantART for a little while; Broucke is a game to be played and enjoyed in your free time. The only circumstances in which your pets will be taken from you are: If you are banned from or unwatch Broucke , if you leave deviantART, if your account is deactivated/frozen, or if you move to a new account without notifying Broucke about the change. In these cases, pets are considered abandoned and will be given new homes by the agency.


Be Kind To Your Fellow Members
By adopting and participating in the events held at Broucke , you agree to adhere to it's rules and requirements. Be kind, respectful and courteous to your fellow members, and remember - it's just a game. Harassment, trolling, spamming, slandering, whining and the like will not be tolerated. I reserve the right to remove you from the agency if you cause drama/are unnecessarily rude, even if it's in other groups, or in extreme cases, just on a random deviation. If you have an issue with the way this agency is run, you are free to leave at any time.

The word of Broucke and it's founder, MasterOfUnlocking , is final. Please respect this.

In the event that a person is banned from or unwatches the agency, their creatures will be repossessed without refund and redistributed.
