Other Interests: Writing and Photography# About me
HI!I'm looking for an artist for my book. I want a CG product. These are easier to use and change as needed in the process. I'm looking for an artist that not only can put my thoughts in the art, but also work with me throughout the process to make small changes to WIP.
*** Please see my gallery for the ideas I am using for my cover art for my book. The ideas in my gallery are the "voice" and the "style" I will be looking for in an artist.
*** I do look at each individual gallery and link people send me. If you send it to me, I will view it. So, my decision may take weeks to conclude.
** I do not feel comfortable paying (and I will not) for the entire price up front. Some artist work this way, and that is great, but I can't work that way. I will gladly work with an artist with a down-payment, and then payments paid as I see WIP. Seeing WIP will also give us chance to make necessary changes as we go along.
* Once we come to an agreement, a deadline must be put into place. I have read a few bios which mentioned projects are created on a laissez-faire deadline. This may be OK for some clients, but when I do choose an artist, my project will be needed within a reasonable time after the down-payment is made.
** The artist will be credited for the work in all manner. ** I wish to own the final product to use for my book and future advertisements for my book, including on social media. (again, the artist will be credited for the work) -- I wish to set up an agreement where the artist will retain the right to use in portfolios and books, but not to use the same work or very similar work for another client.
My entire ad is written below.
EDIT: First off, WOW Thank you for all the people who are not just responding to my ad, but are taking the time to teach me to use this site. I mean.... seriously, THANK YOU! Such kindness has made my day so much better! :-)
After the advice of many artists, now I can write my ad a little better.
1. I'm looking for a mid-range priced artist for a book cover gig.
2. This is a paid gig, which I would need personal copyright use to for social media sites and book cover (the artist will be named at all times).
Notes:
Money: This is a paid gig. I'm just a regular person, writing my own book, living a modest life, but I do believe hard work should be rewarded with payment, and not "just a favor". If you are the correct person, you have worked hard to get where you are, and deserve to be paid for your work. On the flip side. I'm not Bill Gates, so I can't hire someone who is already established beyond my means.
Edit: I will need for my art to be computer graphics, because once I choose the artist, I will also pay them to turn my cover art into a workable cover for Facebook, Twitter, and Word Press (Ugh.... each of these are different, and are very frustrating so I will pay extra for those).
3. I have noticed some artists would like to be paid up front for the entire project, I'm not comfortable with that. I don't mind paying a down payment, then making progress payments as the project progresses, but I can't see myself paying for the entire project up front. I would also like to have the commission set up so I can see progress, in case there are any change orders along the way.
Explanation of what I need:
Due to the issues above (social media needs, book cover, etc) I need computer generated project, created in a normal extension, which can be used easily in many different settings (JPEG, etc)
I need a woman in cartoon style.
I need farm animals in cartoon form, for instance, if you were to google "Cartoon farm animals" many of the examples are the style I'm looking for. -- I need a cat, goat, chipmunk, rabbit, cow, dog, and 2 - 3 chickens.
I have found making animals with funny personalities is a talent not everyone has, so this part I will be very careful with.
Also, I need one normal female. I already have an idea of what I need her to look like. I have a sketch of what I need for her and the animals.
More of what I am looking for:
I have already paid for a hand sketch of what I need, now the hard part is finding the artist which can bring that one step closer to my book cover.
**** Also, I'm new to this site, and it's slightly overwhelming, so I might not even be able to find my way back to my request when I leave here. I wish there was a way I could leave cookie crumbs, but other than that, if you are truly interested, please send me a message (I have figured that out), and send me and example of what you do. It might take me up to 24 hours to get back to the replies in forums such as this, so please bear with me. ***
If you are really interested, please send me an example of your style related to this post. Everyone is fantastic, but I'm looking for one style and it has to be the one and only one.
Again, Payment:
I'm not rich, in fact I'm disabled, so I need to watch my budget carefully.
I'm looking for someone who is at the level of professionalism they understand what they can and cannot do, but not so famous as it will be out of my price range.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my ad.
Busy Writer -- I Write Stuff
PS -- I apologize in advance with the chaotic style of this ad. I have no idea how to use this site, and there are so many members, I was overwhelmed with the huge amount of fantastic talent available. I'm hoping this is one way to find the person I need.
DA has me overwhelmed. I'm sure 10 people have contacted me in various areas and I don't have a clue where to find those contacts.
Seriously, where is the "private messages" on this thing?
If you really want to know more about the gig I have for a book cover, the best way to contact me is through....
My e-mail is amandaonthenet@gmail.com
Thank you!!!

HI Hikaru117,
I was reading your message again, "So please take a look at her art, she draws really beautiful! just got me inspired and now I want to get a slot >3< go go go! BellaNoel99 "
Just curios. I see your wrote "trying to get a slot" what does that mean?
I'm still learning how all this works, so anything I see something I don't understand, I ask about it. \
I hope your day is great!
Busy Writer.

Hello Busywriter!
Oh that! that is part of a journal I posted, you can post journals and type whatever you want to say to other people, in that one, I wrote that because I wanted to get a "slot", I mean, to get a place in BellaNoel99 free art, she was giving "spots" to people to add their characters so she could draw them for free
I hope this has clear your doubts, and hope you are having a good day too!
Hikaru!

HI! Oh yes. I was copying a quote from another page and I guess they had you tagged in the note. I apologize for the confusion. I'm still learning how DA works. I hope you have a great night.
