# About me
Hello, My names David. I am what you would call a hobbyist as far as art goes. I enjoy drawing realist portrait style and Anime/Manga style although Im rather hit or miss with the art form, sometimes my work comes out looking very well done and sometimes it looks like absolute crap! but it all depends on the amount of time I take to produce it. I only use traditional methods because I really don't know anything about digital art and Im a dinosaur,lol.My other passion is playing music. Im a Bass Guitarist but I also play 6 and 12 string guitars and dabble about on the Drums as well although Drums are my weak point but I can hold my own on them. I enjoy SciFi and most Manga/Anime but not all of it. I also enjoy westerns and action movies.
Most (almost all) of my drawings in this gallery are of females ,I seldome if ever draw guys because I like the female form, dudes don't interest me at all. I tend to fixate on certain female characters because Im somewhat obsessive about drawing them correctly but as with all things I do get bored with them after a while and choose another character (or victim if you look at some of my old work) to focus on,lol.
Im fairly productive and regularly post new work although I can't always say that it's quality work but there's always something new in my gallery to look at so enjoy the tour if you choose to do so. My pencil work is pretty good but Im a little sloppy when it comes to color. If you notice a difference in the quality of my work ( newer stuff compared to older stuff) that's because I practice a lot and with practice comes better chops so to speak. Human anatomy is very difficult to draw well and that's what I decided Id do the most of be it realist or Anime because it's challenging and leaves me with a sense of pride when I do it well. And just so you know, I only post about a 3rd of what I draw so you can rest assured I only post what I think is good enough to share. I've seen some real garbage on DA and although Im no judge or critic about other artists work Im a little hesitant to post everything I create.
Im not shy about nudity for example but I don't draw porn, there's enough of that already on DA so I choose to do somewhat tamer fair although I do prefer cheeky art because its fun and you don't have to hide it behind the grey warning label, I want people to see it even if it's borderline smut,lol.

Your welcome, it's refreshing to see ethnic diversity in Anime art. One thing gets me though , ever wonder why most Anime characters look western or European in appearance and not Japanese? ie Sailor Moon. That chicks about as Japanese as I am. There are even fewer Asian characters in Anime than black characters, just something that I've noticed over the years. Anyway, thanks for the reply and keep up the great work. - PS, I would have replied on deviations comment board but DA is so buggy today that it took 10 keystrokes to type one letter so I gave up.

Thanks! Yeah I try to make sure my cast of characters is diverse. To me that is
the best way to capture the beauty of the world around us. It makes stories so
much more rich and colorful when different cultures and ethnicities are highlighted.
Yeah, I had been wondering why that was the case with characters of Japanese decent
in anime. I would like to find out the reason for that seeing as in some anime/manga
the characters look more Japanese.
