I went to LASALLE college of the arts after secondary school, now in my final year for 3D animation course. Drawing and illustrating is completely self-taught by myself.
Currently i'm having holiday and working on my personal artbook project xD !

Glad you like my Sonic works! xD It's the only thing I can draw well at the moment, along with my own animal characters. I've been practising drawing humans lately, but...they look horrible
I'm planning to get into Visual Communication at Temasek Poly. If not, then Digital Animation would be my 2nd choice

LASALLE is really tough and much more expensive than poly fees. The 2D animation here will not be recommended by me - at all -. If you are into 2d design related and gaming you can try DIGIPEN.
Career in art will not be an easy road but if you are serious about it then you should be able to persist and learn most of the thing on your own. Trust me the internet is an extremely powerful thing. You can learn MORE from the internet than in school. Best example would be tutorial from deviantart.
Lecturers can only give you assignment and tell you what to do after their demo, the rest of the thing are still hours of dedication of your own time. Trust me, it's not about the school if you want to get a job in the future. Diploma is just to be safe but the main thing you need is a portfolio of your works !
(oh ya and yes, you need to present a portfolio after you apply for the entry to the school. It will be harsh ( at least for me ) and you have chances of getting rejected. You need to present 10, wide range of works, preferrably different uses of mediums on the artwork. )

It's pretty tough over there at Digipen too, from news articles I've read.
Yes, I'm aware that an art career will not be easy. That's why I'm trying to learn as much as possible on my own - the diploma (and afterwards, a degree) is only a qualification which shows that you've been through a particular course, imo.
