# About me

I write.

I also read webcomics religiously.

To give a little artistic background, I stopped drawing after eighth grade because I was embarrassed that I wasn't improving. Now that I've graduated college, I've decided to pick it back up, but I still draw at an eighth grade level.

Aside from my main writing blog (below), I have an older one on which I mostly post revisions nowadays. awesomepie.wordpress.com

You can also visit my parent site to check out some other really cool writers. theundeniables.org

Hey there! I was wondering if you had any slot openings to Lovelace for AP currently? If not, that's understandable (and I am terribly sorry for inquiring like this), I just couldn't find a journal and wondered ^^ She's such a pretty corva!

I'm currently offering breeding slots for either 40 AP or $80. I'll be putting up a journal shortly (thanks for reminding me). You can send me a note directly for any future inquiries.

Ooooh I would be very interested in the AP option!

I posted the journal entry just now.

Since I only have two slots available (I literally just sold one for AP to someone who had asked a day before posted your comment), I want to keep those slots available to sell for money. After she gets to Alpha (which should be in a week or two at most) I'll have more slots to play with and I'll open up AP sales again.

I really like your art, so I'll be sure to contact you as soon as Lovelace reaches Alpha.

Sorry to pull the rug out from under you like that, but I'll definitely keep you updated.

Sorry about the wait. I just got confirmation for alpha and sent the request to upgrade, so Lovelace should be alpha this week. I had a lot of life happen this last couple weeks so I hadn't been online much.

I always thought that I could become an English teacher. And then I remembered that there would be kids involved....

At any rate, I head that you were the editor for Wurr, so I had to drop by your page! Very cool to just randomly find a published author on dA. I will probably need a professional to look over my novel when it's done, so I suppose I'd better start saving up!

Hey dude! I dig prose, the more complex the better. Got anything in your gallery you think I might like? (Long is a plus) (Is what she said)

CPereira In reply to danielzklein [2012-09-26 12:46:38 +0000 UTC]

Well, my DA is just for right now, so most of it is just sequential short stories.

If you want it longer (heh heh), I have the first few chapters from my book here: [link]

Here's another story for a new novel I'm just starting on, which is on my work-in-progress blog: [link]

Everything's a bit scattered all over the place, I'm afraid.

Thanks for showing interest, though! I've had a love-hate relationship with poetry in the past, but we came to an agreement that I could read it but just not attempt to write it (the haiku on my main page are an exception, since they were meant more as a joke).

danielzklein In reply to CPereira [2012-10-14 19:34:35 +0000 UTC]

I really don't do poetry. Sometimes I slip and accidentally a poem, but I hate poetry 95% of the time (it shows in my poems). I'm a serial prosaist.

And I have to admit I have a problem with zombies. I don't know why that is. I shouldn't mind them; they're just another tool in the fantasy/horror toolbox, but I can't stand 'em. Have never written a zombie story, have never really followed any zombie thing in popular entertainment (can't stand Walking Dead, was unimpressed by Shaun of the Dead, etc). As a matter of fact the only zombie films I ever really enjoyed were Zombieland and the 2004 Dawn of the Dead remake (yeah, the remake over the original, any day. So slick, so fast, so funny.)

Is everything you do zombie-related?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CPereira In reply to danielzklein [2012-10-15 04:28:54 +0000 UTC]

No! I actually do other stuff, believe it or not

Everything zombie-related that I do, I was talked into. My writing group encouraged me to write more zombie stories (after writing three as an experiment) until it turned into a novella, and then my girlfriend just happened to be running a zombie group on DA when I first started dating her.

I mean, I do like zombies. I think they're a great tool in creating a constant feeling of suspense without just being a gorefest (which usually isn't quite as interesting to read as it is to watch anyway), but they can be really old hat if you're not doing anything interesting/unique with them.

When I first started watching you, I remember reading "My Father" and "Fuck You Grapefruit" (which I guess is more flash fiction than anything) and being super-excited to find a good writer on DA, though for some reason I thought that you were primarily a poet. I don't know why. Anyway, if you have any recommendations on other writers to watch, let me know. Even the Daily Deviations on this site (when there is a writing one) are kind of lacking 9 times out of 10.

So I looked at the festival of animals and I started perusing the first few chapters of your book I'm also working on a new memberries story that forced itself on me. There's a large overlap in my writing time and my reading time, meaning that I read less when I write. I should probably just cut some "fucking around on the Internet" time, but that time is precious!

Hey you! On Clint's behalf, prodding you to check out his Quellamunga chapters. He's working on a book based on the short piece you liked "Festival of Animals". He didn't ask me to do this, I'm just being a snoopy butt and saying heyhey check this out!

Looking forward to reading it! I'm trying to get more reading time in myself. I'm starting with A Dance with Dragons, which I'm hoping will inspire me to write some more and write as awesome as George R. R. Martin through osmosis.

Well, let me know if you need any help in the future. My one bit of free advice at this point is that you should just write a story that you would want to read. Feedback is fine for making your work better, but I wouldn't ask for feedback on whether you should write a story or not. If you want to write it, write it.
