I saw your Asperger's stamp, and let me clarify that not all non-Asperger's autistic people have speech problems. I have high-functioning autism that isn't Asperger's, and I don't have any speech problems. I know other people with regular old autism who can talk fine - in fact, I think some people who claim to have Asperger's in fact have do have the normal kind of autism, and don't want to tell the truth because they're afraid of being labeled as mentally retarded.

I don't think a "I am NOT a furry" stamp is really necessary. O-o
Not accusing it of being a hate stamp, I'm just saying, if you don't want people to think you're a furry, just say you're not if someone asks you. o3o
"Are you a furry?"
"No I'm not."
Simple really. xD
Anyways, hallo~ :3

Oh gosh. I feel bad now, because everyone else is commenting on your AS stamp, too, even though you disabled comments and...
Hopefully you don't mind? Um. I just wanted to thank you for making it. I'm high functioning when it comes to AS- I do have an imagination and I can sort of navigate most social contacts- but sometimes it's a nightmare. I can barely talk to people my age, I can't talk to anyone in a position of power, a lot of things just do not process, spoken words get jumbled, I can't understand verbal directions, and I cannot, cannot, cannot handle change. Or certain textures, or more than one person trying to talk to me at once... Basically, it sucks, and it sucks that so many people think they have it just because they're socially awkward.

About your aspergers stamp. I have a rare genetic mutation called MTHFR [link] It causes a spectrum of problems such as migraines, autism, aspergers, etc. I reccomend you read the article in the link which I provided so you can get a better understanding of this disorder.

I know you disabled you comments, but I wanted to say this. I agree with your AS stamp. I haven't done extensive research on it, but I know what you say is true because of another situation that happened in my live. I was misdiagnosed with being mentally challenged all because I didn't want to do my homework and I didn't make friends too easily. The problem was no one really wanted to teach me. I also was misdiagnosed with adhd and that is another thing that has now become a catch all like AS and it is a really annoying.

I just wanted to say thank you for the aspergers stamp. I was diagnosed three years ago, and so was someone else I knew, who I honestly don't think has it at all. He was fine understanding people, he just chose not to. He's fine socially, he just chooses not to be. He CAN go against every last "symptom" of aspergers, and he was diagnosed with it. I don't think he actually had it. :\ I'm pretty positive I do. For awhile we even thought I was agorophobic because I was so scared of social interaction. I don't get jokes, or teasing, I get offended. Apparently they're just "teasing", but it almost never seems that way to me. It seems like they're being serious.

I don't know you so well, so I can't totally tell you whether or not you have it, but if you're worried about it, maybe talk to your parents or someone, and if it becomes a major concern, you and them look farther into it together?
You should talk to your parents and/or someone else regardless, if you *seriously* are feeling suicidal, because that's already a serious issue (though, on a side note, that's not really a symptom of this).
Also, if it were me, I would have myself--and everyone involved--research Asperger's in as much detail as possible before jumping to the conclusion you have it, instead of going off of the watered-down stereotype that's floating around online, or taking the word of the first random person you talk to as absolute truth.
It's a *lot* less-common than people make it out to be, so a lot of people will quickly tell you you have it, even if you may not, so you need to be *very* careful about just taking someone's word for it without a lot of critical thought.

I have to agree with GiftedElements, about the Aspergers stamp. I understand that you may have a lot of difficulties with your Aspergers, but we're not all like that. As with all disorders and the like, there are gradients, one might fight every day to appear normal with Aspergers and even go to a special school, while others (like myself) don't have too much difficulty pretending we're normal and can function semi-normally.
Having Aspergers to a lighter degree does not make a professional diagnosis any less valid. I must say that that is what grated at me most about your rant at that stamp, that a professional diagnosis may be 'wrong' just because somebody may show characteristics to a lesser degree. By saying so you are doing nothing positive for others with Aspergers, basically saying 'your psychologist was wrong, because your characteristics aren't as bad, your diagnosis is invalid'.
Such a thing only hurts. We are all individuals, and we all are different, so though our disorder is the same, it may express itself differently.
/soapbox
Otherwise, I agree. 'Self diagnosed' anything isn't cool.

(Before anyone else says anything critical, I'd like you to *please* read this entire message beyond the first two sentences. Thanks, and if you do still find a problem, try to be civil about it, because I don't generally answer over-the-top hate mail. If you can be reasonable, I'll be perfectly-ok with trying to explain what I think on the subject and what I mean here, though--I just don't want a huge 'war' breaking out in my comments, because I'm already starting to regret not disabling them.)
A RARE disorder is a RARE disorder, period, and is not the big 'epidemic' people are making it out to be.
People need to stop abusing it, overdiagnosing it, AND trying to make it into a desireable 'cute alternative lifestyle', and that's that--it hurts people when people abuse it as a 'i wanna look cool so imma claim ive got a rare problem to be speshal' fad, and causes as many or more people to be confused and misinformed as to what it really is, and to think they have it when they really don't.
That's what I'm saying, and I think one or two people have taken it just a bit differently than what I meant for, so let me *try* to clear some stuff up.
First, I'm not saying there aren't DEGREES of it for the few people who REALLY DO have it--some people have it worse than others (and/or some people can also work around it and cope better than others), that much IS true, as it would be for any disorder.
I'm saying that the things that the REAL definition of what Asperger's actually IS has become so eroded by people lately, that now, the things that some people are trying to claim actually constitute someone HAVING Asperger's are starting to get REALLY insignificant and ridiculous, and that people are starting more and more OFTEN to wrongly diagnose it based on next to NOTHING that would realistically *call* for an Asperger's diagnosis, or anything even semi-related.
So, again, are there some 'tiers' or 'degrees' within this, and any other disorder or issue a person can have?
Yes, there are, obviously. But does something as small as, say...
'Ahahaha oh yeah I'm liek just a bit geeky!'
'Um, I'm slightly shy...'
'I'm just not popular enough, waaah!'
...or even...
'Eh, well, I don't 100% follow my age/gender stereotype because I have a mind of my own, so some people see me as just a TINY bit different, but it's not like I'm different in some way that's actually damaging or anything, so it's not a big deal.'
...REALLY necessarily constitute this disorder--or ANY disorder--in ANY degree?
NO, it absolutely doesn't, but these days, there are WAY too many cases where people *do* decide to seize upon even the most stupidly-microscopic thing, hyper-analyze it, and overblow it into something it isn't.
Some things on their own, like the things I just listed--mild shyness just as a personality trait, 'not being popular enough', being a little tiny bit geeky, or just being slightly different because you have a mind of your own and you're just not into the same stuff everyone else your age and gender supposedly is--without *ANY* other symptoms (in varying amounts or pairings, or in some cases, the whole works) is NOT Asperger's and shouldn't be diagnosed as Asperger's, but lately, BECAUSE of the definition of it being eroded, these things *are* being diagnosed that way, and and in all fairness, shouldn't be.
Does that clear up anything for anyone?
To recap (including a couple things I've had to clear up in other posts/notes/etc):
1) I'm NOT trying to claim Asperger's doesn't exist. (It's just a lot less-common than people are making it out to be, that's a big part of my point.)
2) I'm NOT trying to say that everyone that has it has EVERY SINGLE SYMPTOM in the highest, most intense degree possible. (Some people do have different 'levels' of it, to SOME degree, but at some point there HAS to be a cutoff at which you say, 'Ok, you're a little different, but you don't have symptoms that show that there's any kind of actual disorder CAUSING it--you're just your own person/an individual/etc.', and that people have eroded that cutoff point so far that it's getting ridiculous and out of control what will pass for 'having Asperger's' at this point. Basically, there has to be a cutoff point at which you differentiate between someone having it and someone NOT having it and instead just being [insert other NON-disorder trait here--mildly shy, slightly nerdy, etc.], and it seems like there's becoming less and less of one.)
3) I'm NOT trying to trash/diss/make fun of/put down people who really have it. (Seriously, if I have any harsh words for ANYONE here, even a bit, it's for these people who PRETEND to have it on purpose to get attention--this is wrong, immature, and completely unfair to people who really have it, and needs to stop. As a matter of fact, people FAKING IT to look cool are a huge part of what even prompted my *making* this stamp to begin with--it was between that, and the rampant misdiagnosis/massive erosion of the defition of it.)
4) I'm NOT trying to claim that psychologists are NEVER right about anything. (But I *will* say, and what I *am* saying here is that too many people are WAY too eager to accept anything they say without question, just because they're 'professionals' or 'experts', and at the same time, WAY too many of *them* will jump to a hasty diagnosis now without really good cause to do so, so that before deciding that they're right and you or someone you know must *reallyactually* have it, you should research it really thoroughly on your own, and get as many different opinions as possible, NOT just blindly follow what one supposed 'expert' says without any critical thought.)
And lastly:
*I* don't actually have Asperger's or any other disorder--this whole thing is more in response to things I've been seeing happen to OTHER people and/or things I've seen other people DOING, more than anything else. Someone MENTIONING Aspergers--or any other disorder, for that matter--and saying they don't like the way people are handling the topic as a whole lately doesn't automatically mean that they *have* it, so it would be best not to assume anything about my mental state because of a stamp I made that was basically just addressing something I've watched just explode out of control in the last little while.

Sonic fangirls and fanboys seem to be taking up 1/4 of the population, Naruto - 1/4 other anime 1/4 and of course... crappy art - 1/4 (pornography and the likes are sadly dispersed amongst the categories. Sadly, your (and other people's) good art is too small in percentage to account for anything

I know, it's wrong and disturbing, imo--AND if it weren't such a chore, too, to take things down one at a time, I'd have left about five times by now.
Truth be told, I just about hate it here at this point, because THOSE people run things, what they do has kind of been enough to take a lot of enjoyment out of what I like, *and* on top of it, if you don't agree with those kind of people on everything they do with regards to that kind of thing, most of them attack you in a vicious way.
And truthfully...
I also feel surrounded by stuff that I just can't say is ok and good and fine with me (and trust me, I've pretended to not care WAY more than I wanted, just for my own anti-hassle/bully/flame protection), and I'm sick of feeling closed in and pressured to be one of those really...one of those amoral freaks that think no rules about anything in life is the right way to go, and that everything should just be filthy, hedonistic, and that nothing a person does matters.
Sorry to be blunt, I guess, as I *know* it sounds harsh, maybe moreso than I'd even want it to, but it's just how I feel, that no one else like me is on here at this point, and I don't like being outnumbered.
So I guess I'm not going to be posting new stuff much if at all. I tried, but really, unless things change, I've about had it.

I'm trying to learn still. Look at the horrible pictures that I draw. Most are just headshots because thats all I can draw. There is always improvement, no matter what. Some people can do it with so little practice that it makes you just plain depressed. Others get the sharp end of the stick and have to work for hours, months and years. If you think you have no ability, then get off da. Its just a bunch of people who have too much time on their hands and its obviously affecting you.
