nope, no fuel involved [link] -- this was taken "live", as it were, rather than being staged. a bunch of people had set fire to a bush effigy, and when it fell, the hat rolled away... the bulk of the flames n the background are coming from the body. was quite dramatic, though i can't say i'm really supportive of the concept of flag/effigy burning, the power of the resulting image is quite something... makes me widh i'd submitted it to a news agency actually. (in fact, gotta work out how to do that)
anyway...

thx - i have definitely developed a habit of either removing colour entirely from a photo, or attacking it with a slightly unhinged aggression!
the companion shot was taken a year ago - it's the same flowerbed at my parents house in begium. have a look if you like... [link ]
gotta hit the sack, but will come back to take look round your gallery later

Im digging the gazghull painting, really nice work for such a small scale, what paints did you use acrylics/enamel ?
Nice to see another floyd lover too

Caldie In reply to art-dude [2004-03-28 22:40:04 +0000 UTC]
they're similar to acrylic paints yeah, although i think they contain more water than most acrylics, they're just the regular Games Workshop stuff (Its a Games Workshop (Warhammer 40k) figure)
Us floyd fans better stick together.. i imagine i will shortly be pestering you to help me when my Sculpting goes horribly wrong

Sure thing dude, i only done a couple of peices but ill help wherever i can!
BTW check that link i gave on FM theres also alot of helpful hints to be found.
Number 1 rule is to have a sturdy frame to work on, after that its just smoothing out, thats a bit of a prob (problem being it takes a long time its not hard to do)
If you have got any gamesworkshops nearby they sell possibly the best sculpting tool its only 3 quid but most importantly its metal, metal tools give a much smoother shinier finish campared to wood!
BTW feel free to msg me anytime ill do my upmost to help
